He should be in (#803), but what purpose does this online petition serve? Is Jeff Idelson going to read it? If he is, why would 1000 Red Sox fans from the internet have more weight than Bill James?

Sorry for being cynical. But I'd think you can find 1000 people on the internet to support almost any cause.

Also it's amusing that 825 people "Like" the petition on Facebook but only 803 have signed it.
