I happen to know that 1253 is Kate's favorite number. Lucky me.

#1259. My # 24 jersey attests to my loyalty. Will never forget the first game, first at-bat homer in 1986. Saw that game and immediately believed we'd make the Series.

It didn't make EV's list, but I was at this fantastic game. Sox scored 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the Brewers, then won it in the 10th. Dewey hit a three run homer off of Rollie Fingers to tie it; I still remember the two massive ovations from the crowd, the first when he hit it, and the second when he was being interviewed on the field after the game.

#1352. I fell in love with the game seeing him live as a child, throwing a guided missile from right field to home plate.

I LOVED Dewey and appreciated him from his rookie season to his retirement. That said, I would rather see Luis Tiant given a deserving spot for now (check out El Tiante's numbers and compared them to Jim Hunter's)

This is why electing Jim Rice to the HOF was a mistake. Dwight Evans was not a Hall of Famer. As much as I loved him, Evans' career stats fall short. The problem is if you compare him to Rice, Dewey actually seems more HOF-worthy. Evans's career offensive WAR is better, he was obviously the better fielder, and for all the talk of how Rice was the "dominant" hitter of his era, I'd argue that he wasn't even the dominant hitter on his own team for most of his career. It was Evans.

But who's next if you let Dewey into the HOF? Bernie Williams? Dave Parker?

if you take defense into account Dewey gets in but because RF isn't a demanding defensive position his defense if overlooked.

Maybe the definition of a baseball Hall of Famer has been so watered down that Dewey should get in. I used to go to 30-40 games a season in the late 1970s and 1980s, and I never, ever thought of Dewey has a legendary-type player. Not like Manny, Pedro, Fisk, Boggs or even Nomar. But he was definitely better than Rice -- whom I suspect had more walk-off GIDPs than walk-off home runs.

Fuck Kate Upton. Since she became the "it" girl we have had Carl Crawford, Trading Theo for a punk, and Booby Valentine. There are about 16 bajillion hot chicks on the internet why get wired up over this airhead? Also I will add I loved Dewy but he is not a HOF player.

After the first three words, none of the rest of them registered.
