Game 2 of the ECF

Putting Bradley aside, as we must, this is pretty close to a must win game for the Celtics. They can still win down 0-2, but it will be obviously very difficult to win 4 out of 5 games against that team.
And, face it, the Celts got man handled on Monday night. Sure, the refs sucked major ass, but even the CHB correctly observed that the bigger problem was the Celtics and Heat players. Hopefully, that game was a predictable hangover from a "harder than it should have been" seven game series with Philly, and tonight we'll see the frenzied D and strong shooting that have characterized most, if not all, of the Celtics' post-season wins.
Go Celts.

If Crawford isn't reffing the game, everything will be all right. Hopefully we can dodge him for the whole series.Mauer used to be one of my "uh oh" referees, but he seems to have improved in recent years. In fact, he was part of the Game 5 crew against the Sixers which was very Celtic friendly. We're not getting the likes of Ed Malloy, Marc Davis, or Joe Crawford, so it could be epically worse.

Well, he's tried. Jeff Green's heart condition really thinned them out at wing, and the unforeseen Chris Wilcox heart condition really hurt their ability to rotate bigs. Ainge plucked a useful piece with Stiemsma, and the Bass-for-Baby swap was shrewd. They'd be screwed without him. Now with Bradley down, a hobbling Ray Allen is forced into the starting rotation which further erodes their depth. They'll maybe win a game this series. I'm not expecting it to be tonight. Wish Danny could have done more with the bench post-2008.
Injuries will happen, but the two freak heart conditions came out of nowhere and unfortunately leave us watching the likes of Ryan Hollins getting playoff minutes. Pity.

And Ray needs to sit tonight. Maybe not the whole night, but he cannot get his regular minutes today.

Yeah, we've had really bad luck there. Add Bradley, Green, Wilcox to this group and you have a legit title contender. Even without them, we're in the Final 4 with an outside chance of making the NBA Finals. I still think the Wilcox injury isn't getting enough attention. He was playing some good basketball in February.

If you're gonna lose, break Dwyane Wade's arms in the process. Please.
This. Why he's still using both arms confuses and angers me.

Add in Pierce and Stiemsma's injuries even though they're still playing. The injury situation is ridiculous in both quantity and timing. Between the Celtics, the Red Sox' outfield, and the Patriots' secondary, Mass General is going to need an extra wing.Yeah, we've had really bad luck there. Also, behead Wade.

And as bad as Ray has been, I give him props for being a total gamer playing through pain and giving 110%. Every aspiring basketball player should study Ray Allen.

I think someone here has said this before, but it's probably going to turn out with all of us talking about "what might have been" which is really fucking annoying, because I love this group of warriors.

Getting a guy who was involved in a pretty brutal case of home-team bias by the refs in this game is not a plus.Mauer used to be one of my "uh oh" referees, but he seems to have improved in recent years. We've seen what a Wade led team is...mediocre, the key is LeBron. Punish him.We need NHL-level physicality. I want D-Bag Wade on TV tomorrow crying about all his boo-boos.

You're right about that. I'd say that correlation does not equal causation and note that WEEI mentioned that Mauer was ranked as one of the least home-friendly officials in the league this year, but this is the NBA: Where hoping it's only incompetence happens.Getting a guy who was involved in a pretty brutal case of home-team bias by the refs in this game is not a plus.
