5/26: CC vs. Colon

CC, 5-2 on the season, has lost his last two starts for the Yankees. Six shutout innings against the Reds on Sunday before losing command and walking three batters in the 7th. He's back in his hometown, where he has often struggled.
Some of the slumping Yankee hitters are showing signs of awakening. Jeter, however, went an ugly 0-for-5 last night. He may have problems with Colon, too. Righthanders who jam in inside with hard stuff are always difficult for El Capitan.
Yanks have won three in a row, which means nothing. They need to win six or seven in a row to get their confidence going.

Alltime record for combined weight for the two SPs?
Must be. Quite the match-up!

Ball jumps off his bat for a skinny guy. Great arm in right field, too. If Yanks don't re-sign Swish, Reddick mite be a good fit.Trading away Reddick looks dumber by the minute.

Why would the A's trade their only good hitter while he's still not even arb-eligible?

Well, I was dreaming. But the Yanks could use a low-cost RF next year. They just don't have anyone worth trading in the minors right now to get a guy like Reddick. Why would the A's trade their only good hitter while he's still not even arb-eligible?

Tex and Cano had 10 HRs combined before last night, now they have 15.

Well, this is what we've been waiting for. Offense wakes up, pitching is okay to solid ... time to make a run. Oakland came at a very good time for this team.
Hopefully Kuroda can get it together against this lineup tomorrow, because they see Weaver and Haren the next two games, backed by a revitalized Pujols and wonder boy Trout.

Yeah, the Angels are always a test for the Yankees. Hughes vs. Weaver, Pettitte vs. Haren.Hopefully Kuroda can get it together against this lineup tomorrow, because they see Weaver and Haren the next two games, backed by a revitalized Pujols and wonder boy Trout.
Hughes might be the key to the season. If he puts it together, that's huge. I'm impressed with his Ks to innings numbers this season. In fact, the Yankee pitching staff is right at the top of the league (tied with Detroit) in strikeouts. CC, Hughes and Nova right around one K per inning. Pettitte just a bit less. Wade fans 10 per 9 innings!
I'm officially on the Phil Hughes bandwagon. And the Teixeira wagon, too.
