Yanks have a 4:05 start this afternoon. CC meets up with old friend Bartolo Colon, who is 4-4 after starting the season 3-1. Bart is still pitching well and got a win his last time out when he held the Giants to two runs over five innings.

CC, 5-2 on the season, has lost his last two starts for the Yankees. Six shutout innings against the Reds on Sunday before losing command and walking three batters in the 7th. He's back in his hometown, where he has often struggled.

Some of the slumping Yankee hitters are showing signs of awakening. Jeter, however, went an ugly 0-for-5 last night. He may have problems with Colon, too. Righthanders who jam in inside with hard stuff are always difficult for El Capitan.

Yanks have won three in a row, which means nothing. They need to win six or seven in a row to get their confidence going.

Trading away Reddick looks dumber by the minute.

Ball jumps off his bat for a skinny guy. Great arm in right field, too. If Yanks don't re-sign Swish, Reddick mite be a good fit.

Why would the A's trade their only good hitter while he's still not even arb-eligible?

CC looks terrible given the lineup he's facing, almost 80 pitches through 4. That doesn't even seem possible, throw strikes.

Well, I was dreaming. But the Yanks could use a low-cost RF next year. They just don't have anyone worth trading in the minors right now to get a guy like Reddick.

Teix finally beats a shift, two-run single to make it 6-2. Homer and 3 RBI so far today.

Teixeira now 3-for-4, hitting .244 on the season, probably feeling pretty good about himself.

Now he's really feeling good. :)

Tex and Cano had 10 HRs combined before last night, now they have 15.

Glad to see the A's bending over and grabbing ankles when facing the Yankees like all the way back to the days of the Kansas City Athletics, who were a virtual farm team to the Yankees. Not blaming the Yankees; must be nice to have some automatic wins on the schedule.

Well, this is what we've been waiting for. Offense wakes up, pitching is okay to solid ... time to make a run. Oakland came at a very good time for this team.

Their lineup really misses Cespedes, he's back in a few days, I guess.

Hopefully Kuroda can get it together against this lineup tomorrow, because they see Weaver and Haren the next two games, backed by a revitalized Pujols and wonder boy Trout.

Yeah, the Angels are always a test for the Yankees. Hughes vs. Weaver, Pettitte vs. Haren.

Hughes might be the key to the season. If he puts it together, that's huge. I'm impressed with his Ks to innings numbers this season. In fact, the Yankee pitching staff is right at the top of the league (tied with Detroit) in strikeouts. CC, Hughes and Nova right around one K per inning. Pettitte just a bit less. Wade fans 10 per 9 innings!

I'm officially on the Phil Hughes bandwagon. And the Teixeira wagon, too.

NY has won 12 of 13 at Oakland.

I'm gonna start calling them the West Coast Twins.

NY's only loss in that stretch was the memorable Dallas Braden/A-Rod "get off my mound" game in April 2010.
