Isn't Crawford supposedly a good ref to have if you're a road team? Also, I've never heard of the other 2 guys so that's encouraging to me!

That's what we thought until June 17, 2010.
He's only useful when playing the Spurs.

Crawford grew up near Philly, went to the same high school as former NBA ref Tim Donaghy. This game is in good hands tonight. 76ers will probably go to the FT line a lot, as they did in Game 4.Isn't Crawford supposedly a good ref to have if you're a road team? Also, I've never heard of the other 2 guys so that's encouraging to me!

A city as shitty as Philly deserved that rant. Loved the Rocky versus Frazier bit.I can't say it better than Burr (NSFW):
Finish this fucking team.
Let's Go Celtics!!!!!!!!
Win and get some rest.

You think we’re the fair weather type, do you? Ok, to that I say that it’s better to be fair weather than to be anything remotely akin the cretins that unleashed their racist vitriol via Twitter upon Washington Capitals defenseman Joel Ward, a Black hockey player, last month after he eliminated Boston’s Bruins from the NHL playoffs with an overtime goal.

Stu Nahan used to work in Philly a long, long time ago.No racists in Philly. That's solely a Boston problem. People tweeting stupidity on the internet is a fair way to evaluate a whole city's fans. Don't use throwing batteries or applauding when opponents get hurt as a measuring stick. Put these assholes out of their misery so the city can go back to bemoaning the fact that the only team they really care about always falls short of winning a title.
The 76ers fans I know realize Boston is the better team. A win tonight would be nice but this young and flawed team has gone as far as it can go. Miami-Boston is only conference final anyone wants to see, and a lot of Philly fans will watch it when it happens.

Maxwell went into the crowd on Philly to beat up a Sixers fan who called him a racial slur.
That same year Dr . J said that Philadelphia would get better attendance if they got a popular white guy like Larry Bird, which was stupid on so many levels.
Sixers fans totally suck.

The fans may suck, as you say, but Philly has always been a great basketball town, from the playgrounds to the high schools and to the Big Five in its heyday. Don't judge a city's basketball pedigree by its fans. And if you do still want to trash them, consider that Warriors/76ers fans have seen Boston win 17 titles to their 2 over the past 55 years. It's a one-sided arrangement not unlike what Sox-Yankees used to be. You should pity 76ers fans instead of mocking them.Maxwell went into the crowd on Philly to beat up a Sixers fan who called him a racial slur.

I agree that it is a good basketball town. That's why they shouldn't have dignified the comments. The fact that the writer took the tact he did makes him an idiot. I also stand by the statement that they only truly care about the Eagles though.

I don't know, I've heard tell that when shooting some b-ball outside of schools in west Philly, guys who are up to no good have been known to make trouble.
Rondo is going to put up something like 24-13-11 tonight.

Yeah, most Philly fans will admit as much. They're crazy about the Iggles, and extremely frustrated by the near-misses during McNabb's era. The Phillies and Flyers draw a lot of passion. 76ers contend too rarely to earn anyone's respect for long. I don't blame the fans from staying away. The good fans can't afford the prices, too.I agree that it is a good basketball town. That's why they shouldn't have dignified the comments. A lot of bad management/personnel decisions turned 76ers fans away during the many lean years. Iverson was not a star player fans could rally around because he spent half his time in the Atlantic City casinos. The Elton Brand signing locked the franchise into a bad contract for a power forward who can't get his shot off near the hoop.

That is just so stupid. Ward is a forward, not a defenseman.
