You can't count on the umps to make the right call there though, there's a good chance you throw the ball away and the umps stick their thumbs up their asses. They've been pretty adept at that lately.

Drill him in the back and let it fall harmlessly to the ground.

Nothing is ever easy but on paper it's a win! I always liked Johnny Damon.

Like the New Orleans Police, the 2012 Red Sox are dirty, dislikable and probably not on our side, but we're in no position to turn down dirty water.

If anyone still thought pitcher wins was a meaningful stat -- Clay Buchholz is out to prove them wrong.

Yeah, it was pretty draining regardless. Mediocre pitching tonight. Bats were good. Bucholz, a lucky MFing beneficiary.

This team used their closer on consecutive days in games where they trailed 7-3 and led 7-1.

I'll bet you anything that EV has already written a paper about this defrauding the notion that Timlin's zero-quail April is indicative of his true talent level.

Man Nava seems like an awesome kid. He just gave a really nice interview with Joe.

He & Joe have a special connection. He told Nava to swing at the very first pitch he sees in his first game with the Sox. Nava does and hits the grand slam. History was made. Nava is a great story, great guy. Hope he can stick this time, like his hustle so far.
