I think the pitching has been ok after a bad start. Buchholz is a major concern though, and he probably needs to be DL or sent down to work on whatever his issue is. Daisuke almost ready to come up.

Youk is on the DL and has been for the last week. Becketts been ok. Becketts a 5/10 guy and Youk has little trade value.

The issue is they need to make an example of one of these guys, so these guys top acting like overpaid bums. Beckett can have a 0 era he is still a jerk.

Not Bobby's fault. Easy to single out one guy, always the manager.

It wasn't Tito's fault last year either, but he got shit-canned because he couldn't get the roster to perform for one month.

I don't see a difference.

For some unknown reason I am sitting here watching the post game re-cap......... I see that Clay is taking after his mentors (Beckett & Lester) complaining about the umps..........that act (by all three) is really getting old.

Not Bobby's fault. Easy to single out one guy, always the manager. He's not swinging at shitty pitches or carrying the Brinker's safe on his back rounding third or watching the ball instead of running. Or worse, not even getting through 5 innings as a starter. FFS, Clay has an ERA over 9! The guys wearing the uniform on the field should be embarrassed. Thank God for the bullpen lately or it would be even uglier. Not on Bobby, take a long hard look at yourselves 25 man roster.

It's easier to change managers than the whole team. Personally, I have seen enough of Bobby V even if he is not to blame for everything. Sometimes a change can spark a team.

That said, give it another month, I think the team is better than it has looked so far. If it still is struggling by the end of May, Bobby V goes. If that does not work by the end of July, blow it up,

He was the problem last year and we never took care of it so it is carrying over. I would love to blame Bobby V, but he is far from the problem.

Terry Francona, who was the Red Sox best manager EVER, got fired because some of the players were screwing around last year. Valentine was brought in to straighten out the mess. The team isn't playing ANY better now. If nothing else, the seat should be getting a little warmer for Booby.

I don't know what everyone's so mad about -- this is a no-lose situation. Every win is, well, a Sox win. And every disgusting, inexplicable, record-breaking huh???!!! of a loss slightly increases the amount of squalid pleasure I'm getting from seeing how bad and weird this shit can get.

Yeah, I do not live in Mass, so I do not know these guys. Keep the blinders on, make excuses for these guys, and keep blaming Bobby V. They will eventually get out of the toilet.

I have done no such thing. I just don't see how Beckett is to blame for any of this (particularly today).

Clay sucks. The lineup is in shambles. Bobby isn't really helping matters. Salty can't catch. The pitching is a game of musical chairs. The bench is a disaster. Adrian is killing them at entirely the wrong moment. And on. and on.

And no I don't think it's about attitudes or heart or emotion or what the hell ever.

The problem is that these things individually might not be so damn bad but together it's a trainwreck.

Using McDonald while insisting on carrying 13 pitchers feels like the lowest low in quite some time. This organization is in shambles.

The absence of MLB ready prospects has taken its toll. Instead of a guy like Kalish platooning a bit and earning a full time role, we're watching DMac, a guy whose upside is known and not so special.

You know, at the beginning of the NESN broadcast today (back when I was young and slim), Orsillo and Gammo were tripping all over themselves describing how wonderful it was that Adrian had snapped out of his slump, and all was now right with the world.

I think he'll eventually get fired, but not this year. I do see it getting very uncomfortable for him though. A lot of people thought it was a terrible idea to hire him in the first place, and he's done nothing to win us over. And no, he doesn't know that I call him Booby.

Pitches thrown by the relievers in the last 3 days:

Aceves: 69 in 2 games
Atchison: 61 in 3 games
Albers: 58 in 2 games
Mortenson: 57 in 1 game
Morales: 50 in 2 games
Padilla: 46 in 2 games
Hill: 37 in 2 games, about 10 days off TJS rehab
Miller: 33 in 2 games, 16 in AAA, and just off the DL

Basically, if it was possible, every single one of them should be given tomorrow off.

So, I was wrong back in the 8th inning. Pinch-running DMac for Ortiz sucked, b/c if they hadn't this game could have ended in the 9th. That probably would have been better for the team going forward, if not for the Sosh joke factory. Thanks for all the yucks, guys.

It was a train wreck last year and they kept the ring leaders around. Beckett should have ben a leader of that picthcing staff and he was not. One coach already lost his job, so it is not a coach issue it is a player issue. It worked so well for the Mets after their monster collapse to keep the same player around. The sox showed no heart the last month of last season and it seems to have carried over.

Well for whomever is left this is sure to make you feel better. I know it helped me. At the ATL a'port could not get ESPN feed, so trying to follow the game with all of you and NESN. After WMB failed to run on his foul/double/foul/double - this keen baseball analysis was offered on the NESN blog by Big Brother - "It does not matter because Byrd (whatever -ed) out". So there - nothing matters. Nothing at all - including the basics. It is fate, Fate is the hunter.
