Just want to give a shout out and say thanks to Cuzittt for continuing the tradition of these Gameday threads. Thanks also to Jonasi for posting all the day's links in one convenient spot, especially the Gameday links which are otherwise a pain in the ass to find.

The effort is much appreciated, guys!

IF Jon Hee went on the 7-day DL yesterday with a right calf strain (also clearing a roster spot for the optioned Justin Thomas).

STORIES

PAWSOX

Game Story

Lefthander Adam Wilk, who once pitched for the Newport Gulls of the NECBL, suffocated the PawSox on Tuesday night in Toledo, as the Mud Hens thumped Pawtucket 8-3. Wilk threw 7 innings of one run, 3 hit baseball. Wilk struck out 3 batters. Wilk improved to 2-0 and has allowed just one run in 12 innings.

The PawSox got on the board in the sixth, as Pedro Ciriacos' sacrifice fly drove home Che-Hsuan Lin. Nate Spears clobbered a two run triple in the eighth.

Doug Mathis (0-2) allowed six runs, (5 earned) in five innings. He scattered 8 hits, walking three. Mathis had one strikeout. Andrew Miller struck out 5 and walked 2 in two innings of relief. The PawSox (16-10) have lost 5 of their last 6 games.

SALEM

Game Story

Leadoff batter Jackie Bradley Jr. cracked a home run in his first at-bat for Salem, and teammate Michael Alamanzar homered in the second, but Wilmington stormed back in the third inning en route to a 9-5 victory Tuesday evening.
Following Monday's 3 1/2-hour game — Salem's longest of the season — the Sox were able to stay competitive early Tuesday.
In the top of the sixth inning, Salem's Xander Bogaerts homered to left field to tie the score 3-3.
But in the bottom of the inning, Wilmington's Kevin David doubled to bring in Geulin Beltre. After advancing to third on a throwing error by second baseman Sean Coyle, David stole home. Alex McClure added an RBI single to score Whit Merrifield and then advanced to third on another Coyle error. McClure would score on a single by Cheslor Cuthbert that put the Blue Rocks up 7-3.
Pitcher Miguel Celestino pitched four innings for Salem, giving up three earned runs and striking out three. Sugar Ray Marimon earned the win for Wilmington.
