One thread should do, right?

The first game is in Phoenix tonight at 9PM.

Mine is probably worse... only got NJ and NY correct. Ugh. I'll keep my predicted Stanley Cup winner, though.

I'll go:
NYR
Philly
Nash
STL

NYR - Lundqvist

No one else watching this game? Been a pretty good back and forth affair.

Currently tied 2-2 after Nashville just scored with 8 minutes left in the second.

This is going to be a fun series. I think it's time I adopted the Preds as my new team.

Nashville and Phoenix are my two favorite Western Conference teams. Sucks that they have to play each other this round as I thought both were good enough to beat anyone else in the conference. I still like Phoenix and think they are massively underrated. Nashville has that everyone-thinks-they're-underrated-so-they're-becoming-overrated vibe going this year.

Weird review right now on a potential Nashville goal. The TSN announcers keep talking as though the puck DID go in but it was after the whistle... I don't see the puck even going in. Am I crazy?

Yea, you are. But only sort of.

You can see the puck over the line under Smiths right pad after the whistle, but it's safe to assume (give the prior trajectory of the puck) that it was there before the whistle.

And oh, that's what an effective PP looks like. Hm.

I'm watching on a mediocre online stream, so it can be tough to see the finer details at times. Either way, no goal there.

Looks like another exciting finish in the desert. If this goes to OT, it would be 6 OT games in 7 playoffs games for the Coyotes, including 4-for-4 in Glendale.

Phoenix starting to pull away. Goals by Hanzal and Vrbata has them up 3-1 (Andrei Kostitsyan scored the Nashville goal). With all the talk about Rinne and Jonathan Quick, Mike Smith might be the hottest goalie at the moment.

EDIT: PP for Nashville, a perfect opportunity for them to respond. -> and they do! Hornqvist tips a Suter slapper.

Pyatt scores almost immediately after, knocking home a rebound from a Shane Doan shot.

You know, great for Hornqvist getting the PPG, but what the fuck was Klein doing during that whole sequence leading to the Pyatt 4-2 goal?

Although it has gone under the radar a bit, Mike Smith has been the best goalie in the league since the ASB, playoffs included or not.

Mitchell just ruined Langenbummer's day. Good on Mitchell for doing it mostly-safely, too: he wrapped him up and piled him in instead of just plowing him into the glass. Got a two minute for boarding, which I thought was a little bit of overreaction by the zebras.

Brown just got hauled down in the offensive zone and knocked off the STL net by sliding into it. He then proceeded to stand up, the first Blue he sees is David Backes, and...promptly charges face-first into Backes's shoulder and then the boards.

Moral victory.

Deservedly, no less!

Then Quick goes Spiderman on a puck behind him, under his skate, on the goal line to absolutely rob the Blooz.

The Kings are being whiny little shits throughout this game. Pancakes just got his shit rearranged--Oshie put a shoulder through his sternum--and Richards just tried to jump all over him for it. I wanted them to win this series because I like Quick but right about now I'd kind of like to see them lose.

I think they've been fine. They haven't called the Kings a bunch of shitheads yet, which at this point is probably justified.

I started this game wanting the Kings to win. At this point I want them to die in a bus fire.

I like the nastiness, but I hope that it translates to intensity on the ice for the rest of the series. No need for someone to get hurt because someone is trying to get revenge. I would like to see some physical, determined play though.

Great win for the Kings. I'm interested to see how St. Louis responds in LA.

Let me guess, you are a Blues or Kings fan? I'm not claiming the officiating and the announcing were great, but it was nowhere near as bad as you were making it out to be

I don't get to see many west coast game. Unsubstantiated or not wasn't Dustin Brown rumored as a potential Bruins target at the deadline? After seeing him play these first two rounds he seems like he would be an amazing fit in Boston.

In fairness, Brown would be an amazing fit on all 30 teams in the NHL. He's a solid bet for 80 GP, 25 G, 30 A, 225 SOG, 300 H, and 20 min/game while playing the PP and PK. He's even captained the Kings and Team USA.

Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn out for game 3

Nashville Predators GM David Poile announced on Tuesday afternoon that forward Alex Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn will not play in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal series against the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday night after a "violation of team rules" over the weekend.
Per a source, Radulov and Kostitsyn engaged in some extra curricular activities on Saturday night that are generally frowned upon for the healthy and game-readiness for professional athletes. Let's call it a "curfew violation" until officially noted otherwise.

And man, they weren't kidding when they said "Keith Jones eviscerated Radulov's lack of effort"
