The guys need to score about 20 runs. That might be enough.

Piling up wins. All is well in the world. One thing I'm pining for is that gif of James Franco (I think?) doing Doug Henning with the "...magic" trickle-down hands.
That shit is hilarious. That ubiquitous Youk is pretty sweet though (the new Sad Keanu or Panda or whatever)

What are the odds that Bobby forces Bard into relief in this game, just so that he has an excuse not to start him tomorrow?
0% -- Jerking a starter around that way would risk open mutiny among the pitching staff.
I bet BobbyV is looking forward to Cook's opt-out date, though. Like a 6-year-old kid the week before Christmas.

If anyone should move to the BP it should be clay until he gets his shit together

No, I think Clay needs regular reps in long innings to reclaim the feel of his changeup, to gain consistency burying it and his fastball down in the zone. Whether the Red Sox' best interests are served by his starting in MLB or by his starting in Pawtucket, Buchholz needs to remain a starter.
But there can't be any doubt BobbyV is dying for a reason to yank Bard out of the rotation and pitch him out of the pen.

Good point, But he should be the one out of the rotation, Hopefully its something fixable with Clay and we can get the good Clay back

What he needs to do is realize that he won't be able to sustain any level of success with his current shit mechanics. No, I think Clay needs regular reps in long innings to reclaim the feel of his changeup, to gain consistency burying it and his fastball down in the zone. He is a completely different pitcher than he was in 2010, when he was actually good. I have no confidence in him getting any better.

Well someone agrees with you:
Think he has options remaining, but yes “https://twitter.com/#!/Sean_McAdam/status/195613029067530240@bosoxholic: When Hill is called up, will Thomas be DFA'd?”

Is that a "tribute" to the guy that will be calling the game tonight on WGN? That's the only channel I get that will have coverage of Sox/Sox. Don't know whether to subject myself to that or watch the NFL draft.Stretch. He gone.

Yeah I am giddy to watch Hawk tonight. I dont know why but it doesnt bother me, just cracks
me up.

Pretty sure Thomas is still with the team tonight.
Here's hoping that BobbyV doesn't give his binky one more for the road.

Meh. Whatever. I'd rather have him at 100% than look anything like he did last year. Put him in the same column with Lackey. Come back healthy, and perform better.

When the kid starts talking like two months from now he'll have no choice but to ditch Seabass for Genius.
I have an 11-month old, and he doesn't say shit that's discernible. But I'm pretty sure he stopped eating corn puffs and muttered "Jackass" when V had Atch pitch to Mauer last night.

With this Crawford news, maybe they're serious about giving Lars a shot in LF (at least until CC's back)?
Cody Ross is the LF'er, but he tweaked a knee last night, that's the only reason Lars is playing I think.

I don't see any hard and fast roles in this outfield. I think it's pretty clear that they'll use Ross all over the outfield. As you probably know, he's played more CF than RF and LF combined over his career. If Lars hits and isn't a total failure in the field, it would be silly to dismiss playing him against RHPs offhand.
