Yeah, two of his best three starts ever have come in Arlington, that one and this one:

I went to the game the next night and a tornado hit just outside the stadium. It was as terrifying as Hughes starts have been since then.

Pettitte is getting dinged a bit in AA tonight, 2 ERs and counting so far in the 4th inning. This is his first start outside of Florida this year, right?

Does BR have a way I can search for most hits in a calendar month in Jeter's career?

Yes. I would think Pettitte is at a small disadvantage, not knowing Eastern League hitters. Most of his game at this stage is hitting his spots. Minor league hitters probably not dazzled by his 86-mph cutter.

If minor league hitters are not dazzled by his 86-mph cutter, then what is his plan against major league hitters?

Knowledge. He game plans hitters. You don't see a lot of that in the minors, even from the guys who are there forever. Minor league pitchers generally are more concerned with executing their pitches. If a guy gets hot, like Middlebrooks and Gomez are right now for Pawtucket, then a book starts to develop on what pitches they are hitting, but it's unusual, even in AAA ball.

And commence the Hughes meltdown. The Yankees are going to need more than just Pettitte to salvage their starting rotation.

You guys better pray Pettitte pitches like it's 1996.

They're probably talking to Aaron Cook's agent behind Boston's back right now.

50 in 98. Go to career splits and open each month (for each years monthl totals)
