Never too early, mabrowndog has been known to post this thread in mid-February. If anything, it's late!

Real good friends with a kid on the Harwich roster. So I'll probably be up with his family sometime this summer.

After having 6 or 7 kids last year, we just have one player so far for this year. Brandon McNitt is on Orleans.

Opening day for the Cape League Thursday. Summer is here!

The Cotuit Kettleers get key pinch-hit in 3-2 victory over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks

Patrick Biondi was cold coming off the bench, but Biondi warmed up quickly as Biondi stroked a key pinch-hit double in the six to lead the Cotuit Kettleers (1-0) to a 3-2 win over the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (0-1) on Thursday at Lowell Park.

The Bourne Braves outdone by Ervin and the Harwich Mariners, 8-5

Phil Ervin had two extra base hits as the Harwich Mariners (1-0) took home an 8-5 victory over the Bourne Braves (0-1) at Whitehouse Field on Thursday.

The Chatham Anglers hang on against the Wareham Gatemen, 7-5

The Wareham Gatemen (0-1) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the Chatham Anglers (1-0), and the Wareham Gatemen lost 7-5 to the Chatham Anglers after falling behind by six runs in the seventh inning.

The Orleans Firebirds survive the Brewster Whitecaps 4-3 thanks to Montville's late-game heroics

Michael Montville drove in the go-ahead run to give the Orleans Firebirds (1-0) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Orleans Firebirds hung on to beat the Brewster Whitecaps (0-1) 4-3 on Thursday.

And lastly, Browndog's & my Falmouth Commodores lose on the road to Y/D. The good news is that the only western division team to win on opening day was Cotuit, so it's a 4 way tie for second.... ') Seriously though, psyched for the season, and can't wait to get to to Fuller Field. Dog, when's good?

The Falmouth Commodores outdone by TRAVIS and the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, 3-1

The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (1-0) beat the Falmouth Commodores (0-1) 3-1 on Thursday at Red Wilson Field behind SAM TRAVIS, who had two extra base hits.

Full stats/rosters/scores etc are available on mobile devices using the Pointstreak app.

Also don't forget if you have kids on the Cape this summer sign them up for the CCBL clinics held by each team. They are great fun.

Going to the Wareham-Falmouth game on Saturday in Wareham. This will be our first time Cape League game. Will I need to bring lawn chairs? Or is there plenty of seating?

I am likely to be a regular fixture at Orleans games as I live about 200 yards from Eldredge Field. If anyone goes to a game here in Orleans, hit me up with a PM.

Lots of seating in Wareham. Particularly for this early in the season. Crowds tend to be a bit thin. I am expecting to have about 400 folk with me tonight at Falmouth.

Very empty stadium, and very cold. But what a great time.

We will be back for more.
