What are you, some kind of expert? (you gonna be tweeting all night?)

Yes, but posting here too.

One thing to look for tonight.. Ryan Tannehill's Fiancee http://thebiglead.co...rces=topbuttons I am sure the ESPN cameras will give her plenty of screen time.

You're Welcome.

Ew, fat. /sosh

Kind of feels that way, although I keep getting this sinking feeling that we wont see a Pats pick until tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong.

Far worse things could happen.

Serious question: what kind of odds would you need to consider placing a bet that the Patriots are not involved in a single draft-day trade?

Today? 30%. Over the whole draft, 0%.

50-to-1 sounds about right. Maybe 100-1.

Edit: Obviously, I meant all three days. For tonight only? I dunno, 5-to-1? so ~17%?

The bigger drama will be whether the Pats once again to get someone's No. 1 pick for next year

Not whether - who. It paid off in 2007 - getting top ten pick next year for #31 this year is "the biggest no brainer in the history of earth." A key injury to the team you traded the pick to and you're in the top ten in exchange for waiting. It sucks as a fan but it makes awesome sense for the team.

Hoping for a Janoris Jenkins & any of the DE/DTs McClellan, Brockers, et al.

Oh yeah, and for Jets to get Richardson after trading a 1st this year, 1st & late rounder next year.

Oh, I agree. I look forward to it, actually. You'd just think that, some year, they won't find a buyer

I'd take a flyer at 30:1. That puts the chances as about 3%... that's my best guess. And the only reason it's not 100:1 is that I think the new rookie salary scale has changed the old 'draft value' chart and that makes this draft unpredictable to me.

I can't wait for the Pats to trade down with the mid-round picks to acquire the pick to swap with Andy Reid.

Edit: for a 3rd rounder. Correction: A 4th, 5th and 7th according to Jason LaConforna of NFL Network (watching live).

Well played by Minny. All the crap they've been spewing out over the last week has worked apparently.

That's funny.

Browns must have figured fanbase would go into open revolt if they lost out on Richardson. Hallmark of a franchise in disarray.

Why would they trade a pick for Andy Reid? Can he play FS?

Nothing like getting a free third round pick out of this. Hope Trent Richardson is worth it.

Actually, it's a 4th, 5th, and a 7th, not a third, but Spielman did incredible.

Bill Polian is really doing an impressive job of being the least substantive guy on ESPN. Considering the rest of the crew, that's no small feat.

Great job by Minnesota. They get a few more picks and they still get to choose from the players they wanted at 3 anyway.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think it's a bad move on Cleveland's part to guarantee that they get the player that they want. They had 13 picks to begin with and they must feel strongly about Richardson. I personally am a big fan, and I can't blame them for trading up.

I think both teams win.

BB: Good depth in the second and third round, lot of guys who came out early so there's a little less info. Sure smells like a trade back or some accumulation in the Friday rounds

Beaten, haha.

Win for Minnesota, but Cleveland did have a lot of picks:
1st: #4, #22
2nd: #5
3rd: #4
4th: #5, #23
5th: #4, #25
6th #34, #35
7th: #4, #38, #40

I found the answer to the last question fascinating - talking about the "we all have the same tape" and the "different keys, DE for the run option, whereas in the NFL it's the middle linebacker or the safeties" and the brief discussion of the rule differences "downfield OL" that make evaluation such a team-specific endeavor.

Contrast that with the previous question, where Mayock asked if he had a "safe pick in your back pocket, like Mankins". BB looked like he would rather eat turds than answer a player-specific question. But the general, philosophy question? I learned something about how he evaluates players and what he's looking at on film. Dude is not as secretive as he wants to be sometimes.

Some speculation going around that MIN might trade back again, with JAX as a prime trade candidate as they want to add Blackmon. MIN could go from 3 to 7, add Kalil and even more picks to the 3 that they've already picked up from CLE. That would be a great way to start the day for MIN.

Minn has 13 picks after the Cleve trade. How many picks could they conceivably need/want?

It would give them ammo to trade up to get guys that they want later in the draft. Move down now, move up later.

Plus trade them for future picks as Foxy42 mentioned.

I wasn't even taking that into consideration. My thinking was if Kalil is your pick at 4, and you can trade back to 7 and still get him, it's a no brainer. You can worry about the problem of having too many draft picks later.
