Because the Bruins managed to lose on my birthday, it's my turn to start a playoff game thread. They owe me a win or 14.

Despite the media continually trying to push the story, Braden Holtby is not Ken Fucking Dryden. Firing away from the point and giving the goalie a clear view will make a lot of guys look good. Get some people in front of him, make him uncomfortable, and watch the goals pile up.

It's a 3 game series. 2 are in Boston. The Bruins are the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The Caps are a team known for underachieving in the playoffs. I like our chances.

It would help if a few guys stepped up, though. Like, for instance...

Power Play gets one goal, Washington ties it up, B's score early in the 3rd, and then we have to endure about 12 minutes of high-octane Caps pressure to survive (Thomas has a classic "stand on his head" kind of game), and the B's get an empty-netter with 30 seconds to go to finish the scoring.

We'll see how long those lines last. I actually don't have a problem with demoting Marchand to the 4th line and trying to get Seguin going on the Kelly line (which has clearly gotten the best matchup of the top 3 lines through 4 games). Just surprising, it reeks of desperation.
