Two things convinced me of this:

1. Fans of Canadian teams (and even their players) were openly rooting for the Bruins in the finals last year
2. Montreal Canadiens players came out in public to defend the Bruins against the comments of the Canucks earlier this year


I'm pretty confident that neither of those instances were motivated by any love of the Bruins organization whatsoever.
