Soriano doesn't appear to have his best stuff this evening.

Tore a fingernail last night, might have something to do with it.

IBBing the bases loaded for Adam Jones? Soriano doesn't exactly have the best control. This seems crazy.

Oh I know. That was what I meant. Seems like it might be affecting him.

Joe: So I hear you're struggling finding the strike zone, Soriano?

Soriano: Yeah

Joe: Hehe, now you have no margin for error. Find it or we go home.

Way to bail out Soriano with the 1-0 swing, Jones.

That 91 mph FB upstairs is hard to lay off for Orioles hitters.

Adam Jones with a good Kevin Youkilis imitation in that at bat.

Seriously. Why the hell would you take away any margin of error for a guy as wild as Soriano? Even when Soriano is effective he's got a fairly high walk rate.

I thought Buck's players were supposed to be smart? Soriano is all over the place so he helps him by swinging at garbage.

It's not just that. You're pushing the winning run 90 feet closer. Wild pitch, infield error, infield single, etc. all win the game.

Farrell - Stolen bases
Girardi - IBB
Maddon - Defensive positioning
Valentine - Bunting
Buck - Prick

This game might test Girardi's will to refuse to use Mo unless it's a save situation. At some point, it's extremely silly to hold him out for worse pitchers.

Aaaaaaaaand there's Rapada warming.

Is Rivera even available? He's pitched two games in a row. And despite his apparent agelessness, he's pretty fucking old.

Tex looks like so much worse of a hitter than he is. Just some awful, awful swings, even when he's hitting well.

The guy swings from his heels every time he's up in the clutch.. A couple times a year, it pays off :buddy:

Yeah, except he took a wide strike three last time up with one out and a guy on third. He wasn't taking any chances with Laz Diaz's strike zone this time around.

All right, who's closing this game? I suspect the geezer from Panama, No. 42.
