Kuroda being given a harsh welcome to the AL East.

The Rays lineup looks more imposing than last year with Pena and Scott, a healthy Longoria and Jennings (over Fuld)..

edit- and they have a catcher who looks like he can hit

It'll look better when Upton returns and they can platoon Joyce.

And if SRod figures it out against righties, they can banish Brignac.

We all mocked it at the time, but Jones was a savvy signing by Cashman. Just rakes LHP.

Curious to see how his defense in LF is this year, he supposedly worked very hard in the winter in the hopes of a bigger role this year.

He can't play every day, NY wore him out doing that for a couple of months and he was a few years younger then.

I can already picture Friedman working the phones for a catcher. Molina/Lobaton isn't going to get it done.

Nick Hundley from San Diego ends up in TB. Book it.

Yeah, true, besides they need to explore some of their AAA options to see if they can catch some offense at the position.

I think you'll find Molina will be used more with Hellickson/Moore to help the younger guys.

If Swisher didn't hit a rope last time up, I'd bet Price would pitch around Jeter here.

Could've drafted Posey, but went with Beckham who's now projected to be, at best, an adequate hitting 2B or a stretch at SS.

TB is hitting rope after rope against Kuroda too, not much starting pitcher success in these first two games.

Strike zone isn't helping the pitchers, not that it's been bad, just strict.

Yeah, but Maddon used some of his guys to get an out or two. His incessant pitching changes slow the games down, but they do help keep the bullpen fresh.

Considering the difference in lineups faced, Kuroda has been pretty much as bad as Beckett was today.

Didn't deserve a quality start. Made some good pitches in key spots but left way too many where they could be nicely crushed.

Umm, no. Nunez plays the ball in the 1st and it could have been a whole different story. Whereas, for Beckett to have had a quality start, you would have needed to have put the outfielders 12 rows back.

What's the ruling if interference is called? Is it given as a 2B?
