This is it: Regular Season 2012. This is what we've waited all winter long for. Spring training is over: it's time to stop training and start playing the real thing. We’re facing Justin Verlander, Cy Young and MVP, so we need some help. Indeed, we need Mojo.

Mojo is back, and it's back big. It's the same mojo it always was – in fact, it’s Cliché Mojo. Any mojo is fair game, just so long as we've heard it before. The Red Sox need to take it one game at time. They need to come to play today and bring their A games to this one. I expect nothing less than 110% from these guys. We need Jon Lester to throw a gem, pitch lights out, stay within himself, and come through in the clutch. He’s gotta bring the heat, pull the string, and bury the cutter at their ankles.

I'm just happy to be here, just wanna help the team. Now I’ll hang up and listen.

Congrats RG33, today is the first day of the rest of your life

I work from home so rarely miss a game. Today, however,I am forced to be elsewhere until 8 pm. I will do my best to avoid the score and watch on dvr starting at nine.It sucks.

Last time I missed watching opening day live was 2007. Since the seasons are starting the same, perhaps they will end the same as well.

Looking forward to reading the thread later tonight.

I guarantee you that we will be off to a better start than we had last year! I also see Batshit II saving the game today and hot-dogging it in he end.

Because it's in Detroit, can we have Dewey Evans lead off?

I was under the impression this didn't work - WEEI streams something else online for Sox games so you can't use the stream or app to circumvent a MLB gameday audio subscription. Please tell me I'm wrong.

The Sox will need some seeing-eye singles, a few frozen ropes for extra bases, and some no-doubters to get this done vs. MVP Boy. And Lester needs to be painting the corners and throwing high heat to keep that Detroit offense down.

The WEEI app won't play Sox games. You need the MLB gameday audio. $15 with the MLB at bat App....well worth it for days like this.

Its been a weird crazy offseason. I'm sick of it, and just want to watch baseball. I dont care about Valentines NY radio appearances or any of that nonsense. Just start off on a good note. One game, one pitch at a time. Do all the little things right, etc. WIN

Lester beating Verlander in the opener would be a very sweet way to start the season. Then again, getting 2-hit by the reigning MVP and Lester getting hammered over 3+ innings would suck.

I prefer the sweet option over the suck option.

It's weird. Sometimes I'm able to get Celtics and Red Sox games, and other times they just play ESPN Radio. Hoping today is going to be one of those days when WEEI forgets about licensing.
