I like how you use Kits and Honours for sections like you actually have a fucking clue. You'll be brawling with Bonger at the next Bash.

This is going to be a fun season.

I'll be disappointed if Crouch scores a goal, and then somehow doesn't decapitate Gerrard during the Robot.

This post is the kind of post that really brings this thread down.

URI, if you are going to London this year I may be able to score you a Spurs ticket or two. Drop me a line if you go.

I won't be going over there this year or next, but I'll definately keep that offer in mind.

As a thank you, here is Robbie Keane.

Don't forget the Cup Winners Cup in 1962/1963 season - noteworthy, as they were the first British club to win a European trophy.

Also, when you look at the FA Cup and Championship wins, it's easy to see why there was a popular song called "It's lucky for Spurs when the year ends in one"

And finally, I was there in 1981 (Final and replay - witness to the best goal ever scored in a Cup Final by Ricky Villa..)

The Ricky Villa goal I saw on television as it happened. I still can't believe it happened, it was by far and away the best goal I have ever seen. It is such prolonged genius that at some point you stop reacting emotionally and just watch the whole thing in awe. It's probably been about 5 years since I last watched it, I should try to youtube that. I still haven't found the Bourque giving Esposito his number scene yet, maybe I will make a day of it.

Agree about the Ricky Villa goal. I was down the Spurs end that night and there was a growing roar as he went past the Man City defenders (some twice!) which just became an explosion when it went in.

I'd guess that things got a little 'dusty' in the Garden when the number was handed over....

Spurs beat Birmingham City in a friendly 0-2 last night. Both goals were scored by new 10M transfer Dimitar Berbatov. Interestingly, Spurs played a 4-3-3, with Keane playing back and Berbatov and Defoe forward. Link

Sorry to sound like a pompous, pedantic Brit ( ) but surely you beat someone 2-0, not 0-2. Same surely applies in any sport, not just football.... "The Sox beat the Yankees 15-1" not "1-15"....
