Going to the game with my daughter, who is really looking forward to seeing Big Papi. Don't mess things up for me, Bobby.

Let's not get hurt here and then it's off to Detroit!

Mrs. Bobo and I will be there today in sec 105.

A Pedey home run ball would be excellent.

Nice Thanks for heads up. I was hoping it would be Buchholz. Lineup looks like the opening day lineup too.

Buchholz was sitting about 91.5 mph in the first inning, figure he sits around 92 ,93 for a typical mid-season start. Judging from that alone I'd say he's pretty set for it being the last ST game of the season.... If he's healthy he has a good year

That ball Sweeney hit carried farther than I thought it would. He might hit a decent number of doubles off of the Monster and surprise some people with a decent SLG.

Two great ABs from Ellsbury, working the count full on both and getting a single in the second one.

Pretty sure Aviles was trying to bunt for a hit because the 3rd baseman was playing so far back.

I really like BobbyV batting AG and Papi back-to-back.

It's like he's luring the opposing team's manager into using a lefty specialist rather than the best available all-purpose reliever.

It works well as long as Ortiz keeps hitting lefties like he did last year. If he goes back to his performance against LHP from 2009-2010, encouraging lefty relievers won't be good.

To my eyes it looked like a good play to even get to that ball. He appeared to be shaded toward the hole, playing DeRosa to pull the ball, so he ranged pretty far to his left to even stop it.

Thanks. Your description helped more than the Nats announcers did, tho they're not bad. They were saying earlier that Ramos had a very eventful off-season. Gosh, I should think so, as he was kidnapped! I had forgotten about that.

SoSHers represent!

Justin Thomas gets another audition, but with his mediocre stuff up in the zone, it's hard to see him making the team.

... and Thomas can pitch like shit and get roughed up. The bullpen becomes clearer - I don't think there will be two lefties in the pen until Hill comes off the DL or Doubront is demoted from starter.

Miller might be an option at some point as a short reliever.

Who else is actually competing?

And Atchison should get some shot in the long relief. he just pound the zone.

Yep, I forgot about Miller. With his historical first-inning control problems and velocity that takes a few innings to ramp up, I have a hard time seeing him as a reliever.

At the moment, I'm having a hard time seeing Bowden as much of anything. His calling card was supposed to be fastball command (since it isn't stuff, movement or velocity), but he had no command at all on that bases-loaded walk.

Atchison is death on RHB. I like him as half of a brace of platoon specialists.
