Lefty Cesar Cabral had his left arm in a sling tonight and will be sent for X-rays and an MRI after complaining of serious elbow pain.

Yea, too much pitching is a myth. This is why you don't trade excess guys away in March.

This might actually allow NY to keep both him and Rapada, right? Cabral can go on the DL now?

Yes, but if he doesn't spend 90 days on the active roster then he is treated as a rule 5 again next season.

I preferred Rapada anyway, even though he is just a LOOGY, and it seemed like they were going to keep Cabral and cut Rapada, so I think this might be a (mild) blessing in disguise.

Joe Girardi said Cabral has "a significant injury'' to his pitching elbow, although he could not specify what it was.

Cesar Cabral was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left elbow. No timetable for his return. Would assume he is 60-day DL candidate.
