This might actually allow NY to keep both him and Rapada, right? Cabral can go on the DL now?

Yes, but if he doesn't spend 90 days on the active roster then he is treated as a rule 5 again next season.

I preferred Rapada anyway, even though he is just a LOOGY, and it seemed like they were going to keep Cabral and cut Rapada, so I think this might be a (mild) blessing in disguise.
