Utah's front court will prove a challenge, but the Celtics will push back with a hot back court and an onslaught of monogamy. It's Utah's fifth game in seven days and the end of an east coast road trip.

The Captain has really ramped-up his boardwork since JO and Wilcox were lost for the year.

Stiemsma is making Big Al look clumsy on offense. Not bad for a guy who usually struggles with post defense.

Tom Heinsohn: " ... and Dooling, he's got to look for his shot!"

And, uh, what shot is that, Tommy?

As best I could tell, the only thing Dooling is good at is looking for his own shot.

Better-than-usual showing by the bench on that run

It's the long shot he's got at getting re-admitted to the Bricklayers' Union for his career after basketball. He's incompetent even for them.

Steisma with three blocks already?

Waiting for Tommy to make the Russell comparison again!

The Celtics' defenders are getting under Utah's skins. Garnett is probably talking up a storm of trash.

Wow, KG sure is an athletic sumbitch, as is Avery Bradley. Fun collection of talent on this Boston ballclub.

He mentioned "exquisite timing" on the first blocked shot and then I think caught himself.

Garnett foul: no call
Garnett goaltend: no call
Jazz clean block: call
Jazz charge while Stiesma is nowhere near set: call
Inexplicable tech call on Harris after an inexplicable offensive foul call: called

Yet Tommy will bitch about the first call that goes against the C's... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

That wasn't a goaltend by Garnett, for the record.

Well yeah. But irrational fandom has it's tinted glasses.

That being said, I think it's legitimately true that Bill Kennedy/ Bennie Adams have been... inequitable in their call of tonight's game. Probably by 8 or so points, in all.

Rondo probably didn't want to pull up his dribble there, but even after he did he was tracking the play all the way. Very pretty fake and look away!

Is it time to start wondering if Ray belongs in the 6th man role once he gets healthy? Bradley looks really good with the starters and Ray would add a much needed scoring presence to the bench.

Rondo looks locked in right now.

Can you imagine how the team is going to look if he actually had some athletes running with him on the break!??! Lob City East!!!!

I would love for Ray to be our 6th Man, but Doc just won't pull the trigger. He is loyal to his vets to a fault even though Ray is much better suited at this point in his career coming off the bench and leading our second unit.

I dunno. Someone who plays with our shitty bench needs to be able to get his own shot. Ray can't do that anymore. Whenever he has been the lone starter with the bench guys, he is pretty useless.

If there is anyone on the team who needs to play with Rondo and the other starters, it would seem to be Ray.

I think I would pay more or less any amount of money to get Rondo on the Jazz, though. I want him so badly.

To follow up the Ray to the bench topic....

Putting Pierce, KG, or Bass in the post with Rondo and Bradley as the weak side outlet shooters is less than ideal.

Yeah, Ray was typically the first starter to run with the second unit last year and it was underwhelming at best. Bradley benefits from playing with Rondo, but it wouldn't help Ray or the bench to make that move.
