Right now looks like I need to get my son a new glove before the start of the season. Had tryouts on Saturday and he left his glove at the field. Have contact coaches to see if anyone picked up an extra glove however not too confident.

He is only 8 years old so I want a good glove but dont want to pay over $50 for the glove. He will out grow it quickly.

Any recommendations?

Also, I just both this glove for him in the fall to break in over the winter time. What are good methods to help break in the glove quickly since spring is upon us?

I got my 10yr old son a Wilson A600. It is light, easy break in, good padding and good feel. Although it is not likely to last forever, it was short money and he likes it.

My kid is 12 now and has moved up to a different class of glove but he started out and played five years with a youth Rawlings glove that held up pretty well.

This is the closest I could find to the model - its 10.5 which may seem large but a lot of kids like the extra webbing.

I use a gove which I forget if it is a 10.5 or an 11, I think it is an 11, a real second baseman mit one of the Nokano gloves (Kangaroo skin), it is by far the smalled glove anyone uses on the LL team I coach, I have let an 8 year old borrow it who complained it was too small.

It drives me nuts the parents all buy these kids these butterfly nets to use
