As the sweet 16 ought to be, this is a pretty fun slate of games. Should be a great night of basketball.

It is an awesome slate. Still, a 9:45pm and 10:17pm start on the east coast? That's insanity. I would love to watch that game but staying up to 12:30am seems impossible.

5:00 left in the first half and Wisconsin is shooting 55.6% from three. It's what's keeping them in the game. Can't keep up right? Right? RIGHT??

Right.

Well, at least it was right. In the last 4 minutes the Orange have completely taken over in every facet of play.

I want them to step on Wisconsin's throat right now and knock them out. Bury them.

So hard to do though, when Wisc. can bury it from 25 feet. But I'm with you.

Just want a good final possession here. I'm ok being up just 8. Can't have a dumb turnover or offensive foul.

And as soon as I hit enter, they have the dumb turnover and a basket for Wisconsin. Un-friggin-believable.

Shitty end to the half for the Cuse, but they are playing pretty well. Gotta cut down on the stupid, though.

No kidding. 1:49 left in the half, up 10 with the ball. Somehow, SU turns that into just a six-point lead with three bad mistakes to end the half: Rakeem's offensive foul, Rakeem's foul on the three-pointer, and then the dumb turnover by Scoop.

I switch over to the MSU game during halftime of the other game, and these teams have 12 points... combined. They've been playing for ten minutes.

Meanwhile out west, it's a battle of shitty shooting -- 14% for Louisville, 18% for MSU -- in a 5-5 game. And they're 9 minutes into this thing.

Cuse looks amazing on both ends of the floor. Waiters and Scoop are playing great.

Biggest difference in the 'Cuse/Wisc. game so far appears to be rebounding. Has 'Cuse given up any offensive boards yet? Wisconsin does not crash at all...seem to send 4 guys back as soon as the ball goes up.

Triche and Scoop need to continue to be scoring threats b/c that opens it up for Fair and Waiters a bit. Terrible possession to end the half, but up 6 and playing well so far. Let's hope the Hoosier-looking kids don't get too hot.

Also, I enjoyed the Waiters Rainbow from the left side. That was fun.

I think the biggest difference is that Wisconsin doesn't have anyone to make plays in the high post nor anyone to penetrate the zone. Syracuse is rebounding the ball and not letting the defense get set. If Wisconsin can't make 3's they're dead.

Wisconsin now shooting 8-15 from three (53.3%). It would be really nice if they went on about a 1-10 streak. They only shoot 36.2% from distance during the season, so they're shooting way over their heads right now.

Stonehill was down by as many as 19, but they've cut the deficit to 8 with 6:21 left.

EDIT - Make that 6 points with 5:31 to play.

No offensive flow for Syracuse right now, and they're not getting those layups to roll like they were. Going to have to find somebody who can get to the rim and finish.

Now 13-21 from three. That's 61.9% for you non-math people. That's virtually twice what Wisconsin normally shoots from distance. It's just unreal.

'Cuse would do well to cover these better - 4 of the last 5 = wide open.

True. But even when they're all over them, Wisconsin is draining it. Like that 21 footer from the top of the key with the defender draped all over him.

By the way, you just know that if Wisconsin shoots > 50% from three and wins, in their next game they're going to lose by a dozen and shoot like 4-23 from distance. It's a virtual lock for something like that to happen.
