The gig is up!
I don't think you'd lose your gig. As far as I know NESN doesn't have a anti-SOSH policy, so you should be safe.

I was just picking out someone, I'm not claiming Seguin is the pure scorer Stamkos is. And youre right, those players would be more apt examples.

While I agree with Brick that defense needs to be much better, the goaltending has been utter dogshit.

Seguin's 3rd among Bruins forwards in even strength TOI/G. He plays as much on the PP as Krejci and Lucic. He was limited last season because he was 18 and physically overmatched, but I don't see any problem with how he's been handled. Every scouting report I read about him pre-draft was that he had all the tools to turn into a dominant two-way center if he put forth the effort defensively, like "closest thing to Stevie Y since Stevie Y" type reports. To have not forced him to focus on getting better defensively would have been an absolute waste, especially when so much of defense is just effort.
I guess I'm just confused. The last time Julien had two elite offensive players, he played Savard and Kessel the most even strength minutes of his forwards. Chiarelli extended Savard and would have signed Kessel if he had been willing to take the ~$4MM/yr that Krejci signed for. They traded a first for Horton as a purely offensive move; hell, they traded a shit ton of assets for the terrible defensively Kaberle because they thought he would be worth it offensively. I can't remember an opportunity the Bruins have had to acquire a purely offensive player that they've passed on for philosophical reasons. I think it's much more likely a product of valuations. Offensive ability is valued very highly, elite offense usually prohibitively so, while defensive ability is generally undervalued, so the Bruins prefer to get a 15 goal guy with plus defense for half the price of a one-dimensional 25 goal guy.

Still no power. The 8:00 deadline to have everyone back has come and gone. Now saying "by morning ". But have also heard a rep admit they are just giving times with no plans to actually meet them. Menino and N-star made sure Symphony Hall has power though. They didn't want them to have to cancel the Chieftains concert series, whatever the heck that is.
