Rays finally get a win over Jay 5-4.

Game ends for the 2nd night in a row on a runner being thrown out at home, as BJ Upton throws out Omar Vizquel at home. Matt Joyce homered and drove in 3 runs. Ryan Roberts (solo HR) and Ben Zobrist each drove in one run. Jeff Niemann left the game in the 4th with right arm tightness. Wade Davis gets the win and Fernando Rodney gets a 5 out save for his 40th.

David Price goes to 17-5 as he allows 2 runs in 6.2 innings. Ben Francisco (HR) and Ben Zobrist each drove in 2 runs. Carlos Pena added a HR and Desmond Jennings had 3 hits, 2 runs and 1 RBI.

Rays manage only 3 hits as they waste a nice spot start by Chris Archer (7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 11 K). Kyle Farnsworth falls to 1-4 with the loss.

James Shields (15-10) pitches one of the best games of his career as he throws a CG 2-hitter (Chris Davis solo HR for the only run) with 15 K's. TB manages only 2 hits.

Evan Longoria closes the season with3 solo HR's. Ryan Roberts also added a solo HR. Jeremy Hellickson gets the win (10-11) and Fernando Rodney earns his 48th save and lowered his ERA to 0.60

Rodney had just a phenomenal season. The improvement is really hard to believe after watching him with the Tigers. Even in his best year, he was always dancing on the edge of disaster, always putting men on base, so there was no feeling of loss when he signed with the Dodgers. It will be interesting to see if he can repeat this performance next year.
