The Jets have never been the same since that fatal stabbing of their leader Riff.

Shanny's comments on the Marchand hit:

Like all penalties on the ice, not all "clips" rise to the level of supplemental discipline. This check by Marchand was delivered to the upper thigh/hip and not the knee area. We don't like it, but not SD.

Shanny's comments on the Marchand hit:

Convenient no comment on the Gill knee-on-knee that 'resulted in injury on the play'? Seriously.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the definition of clip says knees or lower, right? So, by said definition, when Shanahan uses the words "thigh/hip", he precludes it from being a clip. After calling it a clip.

He's as lost as Dickface was.

Yup, would have been nice if he said he didn't like the knee on knee with Peverley.

44.1 Clipping - Clipping is the act of throwing the body, from any direction, across or below the knees of an opponent.

A player may not deliver a check in a “clipping” manner, nor lower his own body position to deliver a check on or below an opponent’s knees.

An illegal “low hit” is a check that is delivered by a player or goalkeeper who may or may not have both skates on the ice, with his sole intent to check the opponent in the area of his knees. A player may not lower his body position to deliver a check to an opponent’s knees.

Nothing yet, I fear it's one of the CL's though based on his reaction and that he could skate off slowly on his own without staying immobile.

Paille - Kelly - Caron

I would've rolled Tuunna tonight, but then again I've never won a Stanley Cup.

What ever happened to getting Tuukka in there more often? Where did that go? Thomas playing 3 games in 4 nights?

And four straight starts with a sub-.900 sv% in each of his last four appearances. If he goes tonight, I'm not quite sure I get it.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on. This will be Thomas' 4th start in a row, and as far as I know, he hasn't started 4 straight all year. It's not like Thomas his hot either. Including the Buffalo appearance, it's been 3+ goals against Thomas in 5 straight games.

Would it make more sense to put Seguin with Krejci and Lucic? Or is it a "why bother breaking up a good thing" situation?

I would have bumped Seguin up there, Krejci and Balls weren't exactly clicking on the 3rd line either.

He's been pretty pedestrian for awhile now. Since 12/31, which was his first game after 12 days off:

4, 1, 4, 1, 3, 4, 1, 5, 3, 2, 1, 3, 3, 3, 3

Certainly some good games in there and plenty of fault goes to the D, but he simply hasn't been the same goalie. I can tell because instead of making saves he's falling on his ass and looking like a fool.

I'm going to pretend he saw my GA list and changed his mind.

In other news, I never thought I'd be sighing with relief at having applications rejected; but 0 for 2 so far and I couldn't be happier. My heart's not in the game anymore and five more years of this just sounds awful.

Phone interviews are very strange. You don't know where to look, you don't know when someone's done talking or just pausing for a breath, you can't take a drink of water without causing confusion.

I dreamed that we fired Clode and Chia named himself head coach. I assume that's like a Battlestar Galactica symbolic vision and some hot blonde is going to scatter the Bergeron line across the galaxy.
