Im am extremely confused, I know they had the DJ kitty video a few seasons ago, but this just seems like a really strange thing for the rays.

Are cats good swimmers? Won't all these adorable little kittens drown when they replace the rays in the touch tank in CF......?

From the article:
But this feline is apparently here to stay as the costume will make his debut at this weekend's Rays Fan Fest and then probably during games throughout the season. He won't replace beloved Raymond, but will rather probably serve as a secondary mascot.

A secondary mascot? That's awfu... (thinks of Wally. And the 2 sock things that wander around Fenway.) Oh. Yeah. (hangs head)

Really, all the ballparks are full of costumed idiots these days, what harm can a cat do? Probably will reduce the rodent population at least.

There is a good chance Emmyceru is from Florida so that works. She said Jake 'wasn't too happy' about swimming that day. Ya think?

In a dark corner booth of some nearby dive bar, Poochie nurses a beer and looks over his rejection letter for the 14th time, trying desperately to make the lump in his throat go away.

That made me laugh. I thought I'd read about Poochie plotting revenge too.

The D e v i l Rays (which they are till they take the one off their arm sleeve) is a franchise with world class player development and roster building and a Carolina League at best promotional department.

Thing is, DJ Kitty is only slightly less bizarre and creepy than the Donnie Darko rabbit.

What I don't get is that the cat in that video is OBVIOUSLY unhappy. Unlike Keyboard Cat (who is obviously happy), that features an animal who is uncomfortable. Just a weird choice.

Great, so now instead of Raymond beating up on a little stuffed Wally, DJ Kitty can bury him in a sandbox. Remy's gonna be pissed.

I wish he joined the Rays, bringing back the Dentist was the worst part of this offseason. However, this stuff stinks of what the Sox tried to do by bringing in the Red Socks to walk around Fenway.

They should add a Pedro bendy doll to go with the Zim doll.

But yeah, that looks like the main character from a B minus horror flick.
