Luckily for us, Gasol is having one ot the worst games of his career.

Larry Bird better watch out, looks like Piercey's coming for him today!

Nice to see Johnson make some noise. He's really a quick leaper.

"Cousey-esque"... love how Tommy re-invents the language as he goes.

Johnson is getting the "big man who can space the floor" crunch time minutes with Bass out. Liking that pick from Danny more and more every day

I've decided not to give negative Jed Points. I'm a positive guy like that.

I've also decided not to complain about MarShon Brooks anymore. In limited viewings I like Johnson, and competent bigs are always in higher demand.

edit: Even if he is Baby Kobe or whatever the NY media has declared him already.

Johnson is going to be really important as the schedule gets increasingly brutal going forward. A fifth big lets the team reduce KG and O'Neal's workloads and/or give each of them a couple nights off during the most brutal stretches of the schedule. He also provides some of the hustle and athleticism that are in short supply on our roster.

JJ's PER is 30.88, not including this game. Not sure if that means PER is a crappy stat, or the Johnson has been really good (or both). But it must mean something.

All of the above. Also, PER isn't intended to measure performance in really small samples of garbage time minutes.

Looks like PP will be passing Larry vs. Charlotte

Well it is intended to measure performance, regardless of minutes. It's just not intended to be be very predictive in tiny samples.

It's still useful as a descriptive stat in any sample, although the garbage time/weak competition aspect certainly needs to be considered

Feeling much more confident about the bench as a whole after an outing like this.

I didn't realize 3 weeks ago that Paul Pierce was still one of the best basketball players in the world.

I think I can safely call this over. Good job, C's. You didn't suck and you didn't embarrass yourselves.

Great passing of today's test. The Celtics bury an athletic team. That is very encouraging.
