Yep. And there is no fucking way I will ever be a front running douchebag. Never. Mpost people now treat loyalty as a dirty word. Not me. Which is why I will forever love this team. Which is why it hurts so much.
Amen brother. Not tonight, but maybe tomorrow, I'll watch the Bruins-Canucks Game 7 DVD and remind myself how good it can feel.

I don't really blame anyone, despite my posts so far. I'm just fucking sad. This team deserved to win and they didn't. That sucks.
Why?

Good Lord you have to be shitting me. Boston has 7 major sports titles in the last decade. Give me a fucking break.
we're spoiled and its awesome and it sucks at the same time, 10 times in the finals since 2001, I think 14 times in the conference finals but I might be counting wrong for the 4 major teams, the titles are great but it still sucks so much every time they get lcose and dont win

I don't blame Brady. What kills me is Gronk. He should have pulled himself (although that's tough to ask of any player). Its odd that the Giants losing 2 TEs during the game hurt them less than the Pats having theirs less than 100% but able to play. Arghh.....I hate seeing the Welker thrashing. The guy has played his heart out since he was a Pat. Drops happen, just unfortunate it happened in this situation, and it was by no means an easy catch. We are just used to Welker catching anything that comes his way. This loss is crushing, makes me wish I didn't follow sports. It wouldn't bother me nearly as much if it was against any team other than the Giants. It's hard to pinpoint this loss on one person, but I guess it's Brady. We needed him to have a great game, and he didn't.

It will happen next season. Mark it FUCKING DOWN.I am going to enjoy the fuck out of the next Patriots' Super Bowl win. I mean, enjoy the ever living fuck out of it. Whenever it comes, hopefully next year, but i am going to enjoy the ever living fuck out of it.
Agreed 100000000000000000%Blaming Welker is like blaming Buckner. Both guys were just links in the chain of events that led to gut wrenching losses.

In these types of games your QB has to step up. Unfortunately Brady's best years are behind him. This is a passing league. Brady no longer has the arm strength or the mobility to make the sensational play. He makes far more mental mistakes the he used to. The safety in this game and the stupid interception in the last game are just recent examples. Can't do that and win in this league.
Don't get me wrong. He is a great player at times but he is no longer consistently great.
yeah...not like he set the record for completions in a row in a super bowl or anything..or threw for over 5k yards... BRADY SUCKS! fucking ridiculous

The game was already tied when Buckner booted that ball. Totally different story.

Yeah I know there were several things in the first quarter that could have went differently, but the guy had a chance to make a championship play and he wiffed on it. I sorry if you like the player, but he's a fucking loser.

The biggest play of this game was the Rob Ninkovich offside on third down a few plays before the Manningham catch. Manning threw an incomplete pass on the play and the Giants would have had to punt right there. Instead, because of that unforced error, the Giants were able to get their drive going and the rest was history. On such small things are big games decided.
It was a forced error; Manning had changed the snap count specifically to draw the Pats offsides. The announcers commented on it at the time. It worked. We got played. Credit to Eli.
I'll give you that this was one of the key plays of the game. For my money, the throw to Branch on the final drive of the game was the one that will haunt me. He was open coming full steam across the middle with a deep safety frozen in his tracks, he would've gotten 40-50 yards and gotten out of bounds if he had caught that ball. Or if it had been on target and not a little bit behind him. Yes, if Welker catches that ball, that drive is all kneel-downs, but Brady could've had the greatest drive of all time if he places that ball a little better or Branch reads the throw a little better. I'll regret that one more.

it's nice that this team is still stacked for next year. Pick up some good draft picks and free agents (DB, Pass rushing LB and maybe a #1 or #2WR) and you're pretty much ready to go... Full training camp and I like our chances.
Just would like one playoff game where they go in with all of their skill players being healthy.

What if he makes that play and they only get a FG on the drive? That still leaves the door open for the Giants to drive the field and get the winning score. He didn't drop a sure TD pass. Sure, it would have put them in great position there's no argument there. But, if they don't score 7 they still have to stop the Giants.

The only difference it may have made is there would most likely be a lot less time on the clockWhat if he makes that play and they only get a FG on the drive? It was an appropriate challenge. You can argue that by the time manningham has possession his right foot bounced off the left and never hit the ground. Tough to overrule but if the ruling on field was incompletion, I think that stands too.Surprised BB isn't getting more heat for whiffing on the review of Manningham's catch. That TO was a big deal.

also, fuck anyone that's throwing the whole game on welker.
No rational person is. But the fact remains that one of our top "playmakers" failed to make a play. He deserves criticism for that lack of execution.
#3746

And he dropped it.
EDIT - No game ever comes down to one play, technically, but Wes Welker could have put them a few plays from securing a win by catching a ball that hit him in the hands.

The Giants hurried to the line, so he had to challenge without the benefit of a replay. That was a huge, close play, so I think the challenge was reasonable, though obviously doomed (in retrospect), and the TO did turn out to be important.Surprised BB isn't getting more heat for whiffing on the review of Manningham's catch. That TO was a big deal.

So many "what if's" tonight, just like any close, tough loss. In the end, the Giants played better, with less mistakes, and yet the Pats still almost managed to pull out the win... there aren't many times you can say that.
I hate to be an echo, but I really do wonder how much longer the "window" can stay open. Even the best don't last forever, and they are only human after all.
I'm gonna go finish my last three Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale's and then fall into a drunken stupor. Spoiled or not, I don't know how many more of these this heart can take.
