HCFF, Clayton, Mangini, and Gruden have come out today for the Pats. Our little secret here is no longer, but the groundswell is still with the Giants by a large margin. When my Jets friend who HATES the Patriots tells me that he's rooting for NE because of the arrogance of the Giants and their team, that "disrespect facotr" will be ten-fold in the Patriots locker room.

Holy Cow fast forward?

The weak link in the last 3 playoff losses has been the offensive line and I really think this is the best this group has looked leading into a playoff game in recent memory. I don't think enough is being made about Vollmer's return and the general upgrade of the Waters/Solder/Vollmer right side of the line over previous years, or Matt Light's renaissance season, or Mankins being at 100%. The Giants have been getting a ton of pressure during their run, but they haven't seen an offensive line this talented playing at this high a level; even with Brady having an off day in the AFCCG, the offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and kept Brady clean enough to orchestrate five long scoring drives on the best pass defense (and arguably the best overall defense) in football. The Pats OL is strong enough to keep the Giants from consistently getting to Brady with four rushers tomorrow. On the defensive side of the ball, the Pats need to limit the damage the Giants WRs inflict and make sure most of it happens between the 20s, specifically by swarm tackling and minimizing YAC. I think they've shown enough flashes lately that they'll force NY into kicking FGs instead of scoring TDs. If Gronk were out, this would be a different story, but he's clearly a different species and I expect him to be as effective as ever through at least the third quarter. I've gotten more confident about this game each day over the past two weeks. The Pats offense put up 23 on a great defense and the Pats defense made 3 huge stands in the 4th quarter to win the AFC, then spent two weeks hearing everybody with a microphone say that they don't belong on the same field as the Giants. While I don't think this is going to be a rout by any means, I'm confident that the Pats are going to win and I'm confident the margin will be more than 6.

Watching the last drive of week 9 now. Pretty confident 3 or all of the 4 big plays don't happen now. (the Eli season-long run, the Chung drop, the Brown PI, and the Ballard 30 yarder)

A guy my girlfriend works with is a Giants fan, and a gambler (we will call him "Mark"). After losing a bet early in the season, he owed a friend $100, but didn't have the cash on him, so his buddy told him to just take the hundo and put it on the Giants to win the Super Bowl for him.

Mark, seeing that the odds were at 19-1 then, and that the Giants didn't look that great, decided not to worry about it at the time, but told his friend that he had done it and would just hold the ticket for him, since he generally handled the actual paper and placing of the bets for his friends. Promised to collect the cash for him if they won, figuring there was no chance he would have to.

He is now rooting for the Patriots, reluctantly, and it is killing him, so that it won't cost him his shirt.

His anguish is sweet and juicy to me, like an orange.

I just awoke from a dream where the Giants were introduced and came out in Rams uniforms. We beat them like a cowbell. This would be classified as a good omen, right?

Oh, and my 9 week old daughter is sleeping with a big, goofy grin on her face. Surely the two are connected.

If they don't win I might kill someone. Time to put an end to the last 4 years of disappointment and put this team, this coach, and this quarterback where they belong--at the top of the list.

Long version of the Haka translated:

Slap the hands against the thighs! Puff out the chest! Bend the knees! Let the hip follow! Stamp the feet as hard as you can! It is death! It is death! It is life! It is life! This is the hairy person Who caused the sun to shine! Keep abreast! Keep abreast! The rank! Hold fast! Into the sun that shines!

Short version:

Got home from Albany at 1:30, fell asleep at 3:30, up at 7:30....yup I'm ready. I think I'm going to choke on my own bile before 6:30.

Going to the grocery store in my Gronk jersey later. Can't wait to see how many dirty looks I get.

LOL@Parcells not getting in the hall. Watching ESPN analysts who used to work with him being like "WTF, mate" is quite enjoyable.

Hey, Belichick, show Giants fans what a true Hall of Fame coach does.

Gameday. Wife made a huge breakfast. 2 racks of ribs going in the oven shortly. 61" TV, 7.1 surround and all the beer I can drink. My 2 yr old son's first Pats superbowl. My 12 yr old cat, that's right 12, died on Wednesday. I've got a pint of Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout that I'm waiting to drink after the win. It is so fucking on.

Oh and, MURDER THEM
