The officials did their best to make themselves looks stupid-- and were successful.

I didn't agree with the flagrant call (understood the taunting tech), but it didn't really matter. The Celtics had the game in hand. The only people who are going to be really mad are the people who had the under for the game which was 174 1/2. The game was 90-80 at the time of the foul.

Great effort tonight. I can't say enough good things about Pierce. It's great to see him still doing the things I grew up watching him do.

Another great game from top to bottom tonight. Keep proving the doubters wrong. Pierce, Garnett, Pietrus, Bass, Wilcox, Bradley, Moore and Daniels all contributed greatly. Sasha also chipped in. Keep the times rolling C's!

Another disruptive game from Bradley on the opposing point guard. Collison tonight: 3/10 0/3 4 assists 2 turnovers. I think there is a clear connection between this amazing defensive streak that the Celtics are on and Bradley getting minutes.

Like I have been saying previously, it is more about the Celtics getting their running legs rather than having old legs. The Celtics are now a month into the season and they are now starting to role. This is about the time when the season would start assuming they had a regular preseason camp and a regular set of preseason games. It is also incredible hard to integrate seven new active players (as well as Rondo and the big three and their always changing skill sets year to year) in a course of 10 days as your offseason. Now that this team has its legs underneath them, its time to role. This is the best bench that the Celtics have had in a long, long time and most definitely since the big three have arrived. Let the good times role.

I agree with many of your points, but all of those roles should be "roll."

Still terrified of the second half schedule. They may be getting their legs now, but I expect they will lose them again at some point. Won't be shocked to see some scheduled "injuries" down the road, and they'll continue to be extra cautious with any little bruise or sprain. Fortunately, everybody's schedule sucks.

Just keep the roll going to the point where they have a solid hold on a seed better than the 7 or 8 and I am fine with scheduled "injuries", etc.

Roll em if you got em.

Pierce is acquitting himself well as point forward, but he'll be in trouble if the other team makes a commitment to putting pressure on him and getting the ball out of his hands. Stan Van Gundy and Frank Vogel didn't do the proper preparation and then fell asleep on the job.

Bass continues to shoot with assurance, Pietrus knows where to spot up and has shown good shot selection lately, and Wilcox showed some of the cleverness inside that was his calling card when he was drafted. Bradley and Moore didn't excel, but continued to play calmly and effectively as off-guards. If the bench continues to raise its game, this will be a good team after all.

Great points but containing Pierce and pressuring the ball out of his hands might be harder said than done because the Celtics have very good outside shooters (Allen, Pietrus, Bass, Garnett, Moore, etc) that can beat you if you force Pierce to pass. With the set of shooters that the Celtics have, Pierce might get many more one on one opportunities than the past two years because of the abundance of effective mid to long range shooters that has been assembled on this team compared to previous years. One of the weak spots to the past two Celtics teams have been effective mid to long range shooters outside of just Ray Allen. This team has been bulked up greatly in this area and more importantly a more complete bench on the whole.

Pierce and Garnett look like their old selves here. And the makings of a deep bench are becoming apparent. Moore has got to get minutes when Rondo comes back.

Are people watching the same games? How in the hell do Pierce and Garnett look like their old selves?

Pierce has 34, 19, 24, and 28 over the past four games and has basically been taking this team on his back. Don't discount the 25 assists in past 4 games as well.

Garnett on the other hand is playing extremely well. The last three games he has rewound the clock on the defensive end as he was able to disrupt Howard and Hibbert. He has also tallied 10, 10, and 8 rebounds...two double digit performances against the best rebounder in the league and 8 rebounds against the best rebounding team in the league. He has been a monster on the defensive end as he has tallied 9 steals and 8 blocks over the same three games. He also has been very efficient on the offensive end.

What are people looking at? Pierce and Garnett are the reasons this team is on a 4 game winning streak. The bench is nice, and I love the bench, but this is because of Pierce and Garnett.

Please get your glasses checked.

Are you serious? "Like their old selves" meaning like a few years ago when they were amongst the best 10 players in basketball (Pierce had his most efficient scoring season last year yeah yeah I know). Like " I was sick but it feels good to be back to my old self again".

I think he was referring to "old selves" as a reference to what they looked like 3 years ago, not old in the literal sense.

Great effort tonight. I can't say enough good things about Pierce. It's great to see him still doing the things I grew up watching him do.

This! Pierce looks as good as ever, and its good to have him back to his "old" self.

Well that would make sense. I am just so used to hearing over the past three weeks that Pierce and Garnett are too old so that is why I took it to mean that Pierce and Garnett have done nothing to change this idea. Thanks for the clarification.

By "their old selves" I did mean their championship caliber selves. Pierce and Garnett were great last night. Garnett's shot was not falling in, but he played the center spot with toughness and energy. Pierce was Pierce -- one of the best in the NBA.

Right on. Sorry for the misread. This team really rejuvenated itself over the past four games and its been a great pleasure to watch. It will be a lot of fun to see these two in prime form for when Rondo and Ray Allen are back. It is all about getting their game legs underneath them.
