I'm not sure if Orlando is really this bad or if I should allow myself to feel optimistic about the Celtics.

A couple of days ago, Zach Lowe of SI wrote about how the Celtics D had finally broke into the top 10 in the league for points per possession. These last 2 games definitely look like the relentless D the Celtics have made their signature.

These refs might have needed an escort out, if the Orlando fans actually cared.

The fans will all be gone by the time they leave. I think the refs will be OK

Why would SVG only play Anderson 23 minutes, let Hedu chuck all day when he has nothing and let the comeback continue w/out calling TOs?

Thanks to Doc for benching Bradley. He should never start again no matter who's hurt. And thanks to the refs for handing us some treats.

Orlando, I think you might need some guards. Completely unhinged by full court D in two straight games.

I put the game on mute in the 3rd quarter after they made their little run and then let the Magic get it back to 21...then I looked up and they were down only 8 in the early 4th.

I left it on mute and didn't post until it was over. That was a hell of a comeback. First time all year this team has showed serious life.

Celts allowed 8 points in the fourth quarter. That is dominant.

And 25 in the half. 25 points! In two quarters. There also needs to be way Moore love for the job E'Twaun did on the defensive end. That kid was a difference maker for the C's all the way around.

Finally, I could see Howard hoping for a Lakers or maybe a Clippers deal. He has no shot whatsoever of doing anything this season with the Magic or the Nets and I imagine that's got to kill him.

Great win. Loved the reaction after the win. They wanted it and took it. No delusions of grandeur but they are gelling and guys are rounding into shape. Just be healthy in April and they are a live team for at least a round.

Amazing that the bench just won two consecutive games against a healthy team that is well over .500. Maybe the new guys are starting to figure it out and the old guys are getting their legs. Still wish they had Green and David West, but oh well.

Two great wins in a week over Orlando, all keyed by pressure D. The young guards have really keyed this turnaround - I don't know if E-Twaun Moore will pan out in the pros but for one night anyway, he looked like Dwayne Wade - scoring, taking it to the hole, lots of 3's and surprisingly good defense. He even played PG and showed a half-decent handle. It says a lot that Doc left him out there at the end of the game.

And I LOVED the post game celebration!! They acted like this was championship game win - especially Doc!

What a performance, what a comeback. Pierce, Garnett, Moore, Bradley (2nd half), Bass, Wilcox, Daniels, and Pietrus all came up big. This team can do it, I have been saying it all year. Its a matter of getting their legs back with no preseason. It will take time but this team can win. This bench is the best bench the Celtics have had in a long time and most certainly since the big three arrived.

I think the Moneyball comparisons are evident. Tony Allen is a great defender but overlooked due to his occassional tunnel vision, propensity for dribbling the ball off of his leg on a fast break, and the off the court issues. Randolph and Mayo's talent; again overshadowed by charachter issues. And Rudy Gay? No kid's gonna buy that jersey.

Went to the game tonight, few thoughts:
-Glad we don't have big baby anymore, one trip down the court and he's gassed
-Pierce and esp Garnett looked old
-The offense is terrible: pass, pass, jump shot
-Bass and Pietrus very good role players for this team
-The Magic cannot maintain their composure

E'Twaun Moore had a very good game. He should pass somebody -- Avery Bradley or Marquis Daniels, both of whom are useless -- on the depth chart starting tomorrow. Give that man some reps and some confidence.

Edit - coherence, accuracy, rationality, spelling and grammar (some of which I have achieved after the third try)

Pierce looked like vintage Pierce to me last night, 24 points, 10 assists, 6 boards. He ran the offense and picked apart the Magic. Obviously he looked much better in the second half but he did not look old to me.

The offense was a major driver of the second half comeback. The offense will always look better with Rondo running things but Pierce ran the offense well in the second half and got the team good shots.

IMHO a major reason for both wins against Orlando is KG's defense against Howard, who was a combined -45 in the two games. KG seems to have awakened from a long Summer's nap.
