"Ray Allen just walked onto the parquet floor as the Celtics prepared for their team walkthrough, which is closed to the media. The glimpse of Allen we got to see looked every bit like his usual robotic self. He was in uniform and walking without a limp and without a heavy ankle brace. His status for tonight's game is questionable."

Ray knows the location of the fountain of youth. If only he would share it with his teammates.

Sean Grande @SeanGrandePBP

Oh, by the way, scratch Mickael Pietrus, too. No Rondo, Allen, Pietrus, Wilcox or Dooling. Other than that, should be a good one.

WTF? Bradley/Moore/Pavlovic as your guards?

Play big and move Pierce to the 2, Bass to the 3, and Smegma on Superboy

So he plays very good defense and he shows flashes on the offensive end.

This kid can't play and will never be able to play.

Give me a break.

Moore and Bradley have surprised me tonight.

Moore is doing a pretty good job running the offense for the second unit and seems to have a decent jumper. Bradley is playing great D on Nelson too.

Your joking right? Right now Howard is hardly doing anything spectacular. He has had a few dunks but dunks count no more than two points. JO has done a terrific job in keeping Howard at bay down low and has limited him to 7 rebounds but more importantly...2 offensive rebounds. Something that could be much worse.

It is also what the Celtics are doing outside of Howard. They are playing lock down defense on all the other scoring options for the Magic as players like Nelson are having a hard time getting to the rim and getting open with Bradley all over him. Anderson, Turk, and Richardson aren't seeing much on the outside either with the strong closeouts and athleticism that the Celtics have out on the floor.

The Celtics have dominated this game.

Bradley is learing where his scorers like to get the ball. Two good feeds: one to Pierce for the trey, another to Bass for the old fashioned trey. Certainly the Bass for BBD trade looks pretty good right now. BBD is a dubious fit for the inside-out game the Magic like to play.

When young players like Bradley develop it's always a sine curve. Tonight the positive amplitude is fairly high.

Are people touting 4 points (2-5 shooting), 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 16 minutes as some kind of offensive breakout? Are you guys insane?

It's nice to see him not absolutely murder the teams chances singlehandedly this game. And I agree he has been less horrible with some more consistent minutes recently. But make no mistake, he has still been very bad.

Also, while I think he has defensive potential, he also allowed Wall to go for 27/10/7 yesterday. Not exactly a stopper-like performance.

This. Mere competence is a big step forward. I don't even mind him missing the 20-footer off the dribble -- that's his shot.

You have to be kidding. It would be nice if people swallowed their pride and admitted that he is playing very well.

Its amazing that one of the youngest point guards in the league is getting no credit for any sort of performance.

You guys are funny. I would love nothing more for the guy to be good more than anything.

He has a 4.69 PER this season, with a 40% TS%, and a TO rate of 16.4. It's humanely impossible for a guard to be a decent player with these numbers. He can make some steals and he tries hard, but unfortunately he hasn't done much else.

Anything is possible, but the track record for players (even really young ones) who start their careers as poorly as Avery has is incredibly bad.

None of us are saying that Avery Bradley has played great leading up to tonight's game.

If a breakout game means shooting 33% and not handing the ball to the other team.... then OK, he's breaking out. Can't wait to see where he is breaking out to.

Are you not watching the game? I don't think you are. Bradley has been all over the court tonight and has been a force on the defensive end. You also seem to be neglecting the rest of his performance so far that has resulted in 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 0 turnovers, and 2 of 2 from the line. He is also a 3rd best on the team in plus minus tonight.

This doesn't mean he is having a breakout game. Bradley's consistently been one of the worst players in the NBA. He has been decent tonight. One game.

This game might just be the best of his career, and he goes back to Sucksville when he falls asleep. I hope he can be a serviceable role player for this team, since it desperately needs a few of those, but to say "Avery Bradley has arrived" after three quarters is... hasty.

Just being able to control the ball increases his qualifications as backup point guard, and his defensive pressure has been creative. We're grasping at straws, and we've got two. :)
