I'll be at a wedding during this game. Yes, a wedding on NYE. I know.

There better be a TV there.

I was supposed to go to this game but a 3 hour drive on NYE sounded like suicide so instead I'll be watching while pre gaming with friends.

Drive out with your friends (or just the wife) tomorrow afternoon, grab a cheap-o hotel (Hyatt House for $120/night 2 blocks from the arena), hit the game (up to 16 available together for $75 each on stubhub), find out where the Bruins are going after the game, party like a rock star, crash in your cheap-o hotel, drive home on the 1st.
If you want to make a weekend out of it the Mavs are at home tonight.

Do I have to do everything for you?

If I didn't have to work for a bit tomorrow that would have been the plan. Austin is a more enjoyable city to party in anyways.

Plus the fact that we should be moving back to Mass in March and I can see the B's then makes it all ok.

But thanks for the advice papa bear.

I'm here to help. You do believe that, don't you? That I'm here to help? In any way I can?

Stupid job.

Back to MA? Certainly makes it easier to miss this one when it won't be the only chance to see the boys for another year. Let us know when, we've been pondering seeing about putting together an away game viewing night at The Fours or someplace. There's a Sat night game in LA on 3/24 that looks promising.

Yea, if everything works out with this job I'm getting we'll be heading back to Mass rather soon.

And a night at the Fours with you and the lady sounds incredible.

3 fights in 4 seconds. That'll be hard to top. Shall we expect more of the same? McQuaid has already had a nice tune up.
Why is it that the Bruins don't like the Stars? Is this some new rivalry?

Closed out Drink last night. 2 AM and when we got up to leave, the bartender was like, "Aw you guys don't have to go," and gave us an entire shopping bag of popcorn.

Called in sick this morning. Hungover is a kind of sick, right?

Chillaxing now, can't wait for this game tomorrow. A Suh-esque throat-stomping would be nice.

Not to one-up you--okay, completely one-upping you--I once had to attend a morning wedding on New Year's Day, having spent a large portion of the previous evening poisoning my liver at Johnny D's Uptown Lounge. I seriously thought I might vomit during the ceremony.
And the crowning indignity? The reception was dry.
Oh Yes. You may have considered such rumors as mere urban myths, but such a horror really does stalk this earth.

A dry wedding on NYD is an abomination unto God. I assume you are no longer friends with these people?

That was my first reaction -- unless of course it's someone that you were going to hang out(get faded) with anyway.

Feel alright? Thinking about making your move tonight? Can you pretend that you're only my friend when I'm holding your body tight?

I probably would have spent NYE with this guy (he's a friend and drummer for a band I play with), but all the same. It's a wedding and thus a more private party (so I don't see some other friends I might have seen), there's family and the whole dressing up thing.

Just met a Liverpudlian gentleman who works the desk at my hostel, is apparently a huge Wings fan, thinks Columbus and Phoenix should be contracted in conjunction with the conference re-alignment, and called Joe Thornton a "total bitch" for diving after the slash from Franzen in last year's playoffs. Also met a guy from Vancouver who who, upon learning I was a Bruins fan but fellow Liverpool fan, gave myself and goyang a half mickey of Smirnoff. These guys are both cool in my book.

I am currently all-nighting it until the 6 hour, 3-change train journey that we have starting in less than 6 hours. I have an unlimited supply of cheap Magner's, said Smirnoff, Normand LÚveillÚ's ghost-written biography, pay-to-play WiFi, a credit card, and an utter lack of dignity.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen - tonight, I am kenneycb.

They showed the 2008 game first, and it was pretty great to see some of those old guys playing again (Savard and Axelsson mostly).

It was also really, really weird to see a bunch of empty seats at a Bruins game. Oh, how things have changed.

Nomar - they get even better. Benoit is later in Season 2. The Honeypot and Skytanic in Season 1 are classics.

Nap - I was just coming here to post that. What a great way to end 2011.

They basically just link to this article, where James Murphy writes that Boston could target a defenseman at the deadline.
