I hope members don't mind me starting this thread. I'm going to the game tonight w/2 high school buddies that I haven't been to a C's game with since 86.

Win, because we can't be as bad as Detroit.

Per the official Celtics Twitter:

Paul Pierce is in uniform on the court getting shots up. Awaiting word from Doc on his status for tonight's game.

So I was just on EspnBoston and I read Forsberg's twitter feed that I THOUGHT said "Pierce meets with reporters on the court. Says two weeks away from debut (then crosses fingers)"

As it turned out that actually said Pietrus. So things are clearly on the upswing from the Celtics roster I thought we had 2 minutes ago. The captain returns and things get under way. I realize we have only shown brief glimpses of the team we want to see but I don't believe this team is going to roll over. I'd like to think we will get rolling, play defense, and die hard in the playoffs.

Go Green 18.

Per the official Celtics Twitter:[/font]

Huzzahs all around - the season is saved. They're championship bound again, at least until Garnett dislocates his finger trying to open his seven day pill box.

Clearly the timekeeper/official scorer is feeling the effects of the lockout as well.

Bass has been a nice surprise, a bright spot in an otherwise worrisome season open.

I think Bass is having a positive impact as a member of this team, but he really does not like to pass the ball, does he?

He likes to pass the ball as much as Davis likes to pass the gravy.

Bass has not played well defensively. Neither has Garnett, who failed to box out on several occasions.

Paul's looking a lot less rusty than I'd expected. Good first-half.

I don't watch a ton of non-Celtics NBA, but I watch a lot of Celtics and therefore the teams they play, and I just can't think of a 3-point shooter that is Ray's equal. Does anyone else shoot the three the way he does, not as a result of just standing at the three point line and waiting for a dish when the defense collapses, but as an active runner coming off screens and drilling threes basically on the run?

And then Ray misses a straightaway wide open three... Too easy I guess.

Austin Daye and Brandon Knight on the floor together. Maybe then can trade for Jamario Moon and bring Sun Yue back into the league next.

Soft schedule next two weeks, with some time off, looks very doable.

Big developing problem here. When he was younger and more athletic, it didn't matter that he didn't use technique to get boards. But as an immobile (and aging) 7 footer, he needs to have proper position underneath. Too late for an old dog to learn new tricks?
