i agree, but how is that not a foul on griffin? you can't just lay an elbow to the face of a defender, can you?

He does this at least once a game and it never gets called. Probably 90% of his best highlight reel dunks are completely overrated because he's allowed to assault the defender to clear the way and hang in the air/launch himself at the hoop.

I really like JVG very much these days. He uses common sense, calls it like he sees it, generally knows what he's talking about, and most importantly doesn't push any agendas or biases. I find myself agreeing with mostly everything he says. I can't remember how I used to feel about him, but I suspect any negative opinions would have been heavily impacted by his association with Breen and Jackson - two guys I despise in the booth.

Kobe is really effing good. If I didn't hate him I would love him.

LeBron is the best athlete I have ever seen and the best basketball player. (Yes, better than Jordan.) Of course, I have nothing substantial to contribute beyond this statement.

This thread is officially hijacked.

Trade Wade for Howard and that team really is unbeatable. It ain't gonna happen, but it would be a great trade for both sides. (It's a good move for Orlando because they get a super star who has a locked in long term contract and can't run away after next season.)

Funny thing is the dunk earlier in the game was the most ridiculous non call. Going over Gasol's back like that and no call? Only because it was a dunk. If he just pulls down a rebound that way it gets called.

Why does Serge Ibaka only play about 20 minutes a game? What am I missing?

Heat @ Bulls coming down to the wire. Wade trying to close the deal on his own.

Rose just cannot do what he normally does against the Heat.

Love that Thibs benched Rose. How many other coaches do that? Pop?

Back up center, back up PG, backup PF and backup SF thrashing in OT. Awesome.

Also, if the Bulls win this game, Rose's name should be taken off the MVP ballot.

Derrick "Wally Pip (lol)" Rose halfheartedly high fives the Bulls bench. What Thibs has done in Chicago is amazing.

In his defense he did hit a 3 to put them up 2 with a minute to go.

Every starter for the Heat has a positive +/-, every bench player for the Heat has a negative +/-. Battier has a -30.

Every starter for the Bulls has a negative +/-, every bench player for the Bulls has a positive +/- (except for Jimmy Butler, who played 20 seconds and has a -1). CJ Watson is a +36.

Pretty much tells you where the game was won today

Watson played a great game, including the tying trey at the end of regulation. But that last three point attempt at the end of the first OT was classless. Just dribble out the clock.

Ron Artest is such a douchebag.

Breen: "It's soooooo unfortunate for World Peace. He's done sooooo much work in the community. He's worked sooooo hard to come back from his problems."
JVG: Silence during multiple replays, then defends MWP when he raised his fists after Ibaka went after him.

He didn't just throw the elbow... He did a full windup, not even out of the stretch.

Crazy.

That elbow was sick, it was like he went crazy on Harden for getting in the way of his celebration. Should be at least 10 games.

Well, the Hawks loss means that the C's are only one game back. I know Doc pretty much conceded home court, but it's still within reach, as ATL has two tough games left (LAC and Dallas). C's have the Heat and Bucks.

The Lakers are toast and they know it. Only question is how many Lakers get ejected for flagrant elbows in the elimination game, a la Bynum/Odom in the Dallas series last year.

Loved the sequence where Kobe gave a cheap shot eyepoke to Durant, who winced and calmly returned to play. A minute later Durant returned the favor and Kobe threw a fit and slammed the ball.

That Artest elbow was vicious and Harden's lucky he wasn't knocked out. He needs to sit out until the playoffs to ensure he's healthy. Meanwhile Artest's season should be over. That could have been much, much worse, especially given how hard he threw the elbow and where he landed it.

Breen really dials it up when Kobe does something cool.

In shocking news, these are the first FTs taken by OKC in the 4th.
