Lakers choking this game away in epic fashion.....
Did they miss 5 of their last 6 free throws? Dont deserve to win when you do that.
Nice traveling call on Deng, btw.

OKC's second unit is playing better than the starters.... Which raises the issue that many Thunder fans are asking: Why isn't Harden starting?
Harden is a much better fit coming off the bench as he would not get touches with the shots going through Durant and Westbrook. Start Sefolosha who can focus on defending and doesn't need touches then allow Harden to be an aggressive offensive player and more opportunities in the 2nd and 4th quarters.......in close games he will finish anyway.

Didn't they already do the Mavs-Heat earlier?Breen and Van Gundy doing the Warriors-Clippers game...there really is a new king in LA.

I guess they just wanted to hang out w/their old buddy Mark Jackson and were able to cash in some frequent flier miles before the end of the year.

Did I mention that there is 3 minutes left in the THIRD quarter. Jackson is just subbing in schlubs off the bench and using their fouls up. Doesn't seem to helping much, but it's a strategy that can work. However, it's miserable basketball to watch. I'm sure Jackson isn't the first guy to think of this, but I've never seen it to this extent, this early, before.
And while I'm typing this post, he was fouled again and made one and air balled the next. 4-12, Clippers by 8, and Del Negro just yanked him.

Considering the match-ups ("Sox-Yanks", Finals rematch, cocky MVP of the 2010's v. cocky MVP of the 2000's in the 2 best NBA markets, and 2 other decent match-ups with 4 charismatic like-able superstars, ok 3 superstars plus Curry) it's not a surprise. They mortgaged much of the rest of regular season, though, to do it.

The Wolves-Thunder game was tremendous. Michael Beasley's extremely low basketball IQ will be the only thing that prevents the Wolves from competing for the 8th spot. For the Thunder, I thought Perk looked great tonight.

You can tell this from the first 36 hours of the NBA season? Especially one with a short training camp. It's going to be a long season for the Celtics, Mavs, and Lakers.

I think the Lakers would be a better team with most of the other starting SGs in the league. Kobe is a disaster in that offense, he kills the spacing, forces shots, turns the ball over and just all around murders his own team. Also Mike Brown is an awful coach. He went small, then when SAC adjusted and started killing them inside he left Barnes and MWP out there instead of going to McRoberts or Murphy.0-2.

Perk was great in the opener, too. He held Dwight Howard to 11 points.

Kahn trades that guy and retains Love (easier said than done), they can be a legit playoff team for a few year. They will never win anything with a Rubio/Barea backcourt as it battles GS for the worst defenswive backcourt in NBA history, but they will be fun

0-2.
Kobe looks ready to divorce this team.
I hear the LA County DA's office is contemplating sexual assault charges against DeMarcus Cousins for what he did to the Lakers' front line in the fourth quarter. I don't think he has a case as it looked entirely consensual...

Have you seen the other players on the Lakers besides Kobe? That team is gross. The only chance they have is Kobe shooting way too much, otherwise they are stuck with Luke Walton shot putting the ball up there and Derek Fisher taking ill advised three pointers. When 3/5ths of your starting lineup are as bad as Fisher/Ebanks/McRoberts you are in trouble.I think the Lakers would be a better team with most of the other starting SGs in the league. I'm not sure about that. Ellis has been playing good D this year through 2 games, especially on Rose last night.Rubio is a far better defender than Curry and Ellis.

I've never understood the Ellis-hate. I wonder sometimes if all the talk about his awful defense comes from people listening to other people on the internet and trusting them......he isn't a bad defender at all. The system has been the teams problem in the past.

I'm not watching the Bucks-Wolves game but it appears that Kevin Love has taken 15 free throws in the 1st quarter..
I kind of like the Bucks this year. Bogut should be healthier this year, Jennings is coming off the sophomore slump, and Delfino and Gooden are still useful players (no clue on what help Ilyasova and Livingston can potentially provide). Depending on how Stephen Jackson plays, this could be a surprise 7 seed in the East w/around 35 wins...

Kendrick Perkins, not so much: 5 turnovers. Durant and the Thunder could really use a quarterback.

$40+m for 7/5....and he's in shape! Imagine if he wasn't we would have seen the Perk of last years playoffs. Yikes!

Someone tell Ibaka that Vince really isn't worth it at this point.
LOL Vince Carter with the CLUTCH (?!?) 3 pointer with 1.2 seconds left to give Dallas the lead.
