It occurred to me while thinking about the potentially dream AAA rotation to start the year of Noesi/Phelps/Warren/Banuelos/Betances that a year with all travel and no home stadium might not be ideal for development. Maybe Banuelos/Betances start at Trenton and jump from there if needed? That couldn't hurt Trenton's gate receipts either, something to keep an eye on.

This was news a few months ago, when the MFY tried to use the Newark Bears home. The Mets Said No. I know they give the Mets gruff for it, but it's probably lingering over the Mets MiLB compromise in the late 90's.

This outcome was very disappointing for me, as I live in Scranton. My company has a box and I could just swing by any game I felt like on the way home from work (the team does NOT draw well).

My suggestion is the Yankees have their AAA farm team in Trenton this season and put the AA team somewhere else. Why mess with your top prospects this way? I don't think the Scranton site works well in terms of making a profit for the owners over there.

They're going back to Scranton next year, those will be collector's items. I kind of want a hat, just to confuse people.

Why didn't they park this team at a university somewhere? Maybe you'd have to play a few home series on the road early in the season to avoid scheduling conflicts, but it seems otherwise do-able.

The MFY seem to be chasing short money at the expense of doing what's right for their prospects.

IMHO the best choice would have been Staten Island, where the stadium holds 6,500. Move the short season class A team elsewhere.

what do the players do? Get an apartment in Rochester and stay in motels or hotels the rest of the time. Not an ideal situation for the married players at least.

It was discussed elsewhere, but the MFY tried to put the team in Newark where the Indy league Bears play, but the Mets wouldn't allow it, due to territory rights. So, they're the traveling band of misfit MFYs.
