Is it always the case that nothing good happens unless Chaz has the ball? They've looked pretty bad in the paint.

huge 3, crazy shot falling, offensive rebound on a missed FT, swishing FTs, Temple misses a layup... talk about everything going right at the end.

Still likely need to win the A-10. Not enough quality wins.

Davidson
Temple
Xavier
St Louis
St. Joes

Bad losses

College of Charleston
URI

Terrific game. They didn't bow to the pressure at the end.

That's a hell of a win. They might put up a stinker in the next one but this is a hell of a win to have in your pocket.

There's no reason they can't win this tournament now. They've beaten every team left.

Imagine if UMass hadn't lost those 3 close ones to URI in OT, the 1 point loss to LaSalle and the Temple game in OT. They would 25-7 and a lock to be in the NCAA tournament.

Exactly! Great win. I took a late lunch and was glued to the TV for the 2nd half. Great composure after Temple had regained the lead with 9 minutes left. Morgan's missed dunk damn near killed me. Can't wait for tomorrow.

I was just thinking the exact same thing, even if they just win two of those, they're most likely in, or at least a victory away from being in with how soft the bubble is. Oh well, just win 2 more and you're in....no reason they can't beat St Joe's or St Bonnie's tomorrow. Would much rather play those 2 than the 4 teams on the other side of the bracket.

According to Lunardi UMass is currently in the next 4 out list at #76. I think they need to win the tourney to get a bid.

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle :)

The loss at URI was the killer. Losing to LaSalle and Temple aren't bad losses.

Never said LaSalle and Temple were bad but they were winnable games and wins would have looked good against them in the big picture. The URI and the College of Charleston losses are huge killers though.

I know, just lightening the mood. C o C was at the beginning of the season so the 3 losses you mention were tough. Let's make it a moot point and win this thing. I'm rooting for Bonaventure this afternoon as I don't like the match up with St. Joe's.

And it's UMass and St. Bonny in the Semis. Couldn't have asked for a better matchup.

UMass laying a huge egg today against an average St. Bonny team.

They have just gone ice cold. They need to start playing some sort of defense. It is way too easy to score on them.

They got some good young players.

Morgan, Williams and Esho.

I think the next couple of years will be fun.

Just make a little run in the NIT to get a little more experience and come back next year strong.

This year has been a huge step in the right direction.

UMass is in the NIT as a #5 seed, will play @Mississippi State on Tuesday at 7:00. Game is on ESPN2. Hoping they can make a run in this, will be good to get some road experience for next season.
