Buried in the story on the Vince Carter signing with the Mavs, ESPN is reporting that Delonte West has agreed to a one-year contract with the Mavs as well. Not sure why Danny's been so tentative to resign West, as I always thought that he was a solid player, even if he's a complete nutcase. I'll miss Charlee Redz.

I'll miss him. I'm not sure why, but I've always liked him. I guess I feel sorry for him as I suspect he has a legitimate mental health problem (as opposed to just being a weirdo). I hope he does well with Dallas.

Yes, sad. He's crazy but he doesn't play crazy. Sound fundamentally, tough-minded. But he can't stay healthy. If he can, they'll love him in Dallas.

Between Oden and West, the Mavs are quietly making themselves even more formidable than they weer last year. Adding toughness and depth.

I think losing Chandler (who managed to stay healthy last year) really hurts them.They lose a lot of rebounding and defense around the rim.
