Sitting on the Acela, stopped on the tracks in CT somewhere because a tree took down a track wire and knocked out all the power on this track. No idea if and when we'll be moving again, but can't say this is an ideal way to spend the day.

My sister used to take that route a couple times a month, a one time you could almost guarantee a significant delay. I hear it's gotten better though. I assume they have outlets and all the trimmings?

Yep. Overall it's not bad but this has been kind of annoying. Although I suppose it's better than working.

LA fires their coach, so Chiarelli counters by bringing up our secret weapon, Zach Hamill.

http://bruins.nhl.co...vid=DL|BOS|home

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled forward Zach Hamill from the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) on an emergency basis.

Yeah Claude said Campbell was in a walking boot and questionable for tomorrow night after blocking a shot in practice with his left foot.

My god. Those colours are awful.

They looked even more ridiculous when you saw them out on the ice. The assertion made at this site matches pretty well with my own spotty memory:

Owner Jack Kent Cooke wanted his new team to have a regal air about them, so he named them the Kings. He dressed them in the same colors as his NBA team, the Lakers.

Of course, that hardly explains why the Lakers were dressed in that garish "royal" purple. Perhaps Cooke imagined that lakes in California would be that color, if California had lakes.

Cooke was colorblind and actually thought lakes WERE purple.

IT department potluck/yankee swap tonight. I think everyone is bringing nice booze as their swap gift. I'm bringing a set of all 4 of the new Sam Adams Single-Batches. If anyone hasn't tried them yet, go do so. The Vixen (Chocolate Chili Boch) is really good, and the others are definetely drinkable.

Their coffee beer ain't half bad. One note but it's a good one.

Chocolate bocks are not my thing - they tend to be too sweet for me.

Campbell has a "fracture" in the foot. Won't play tonight and won't play tomorrow. Not sure if he's taking the trip. 33 will.^BISH

The band in this video (Attack! Attack!) is one of the worst things I've ever come across. That stupid move the dickhead is doing there helped coin the term "crabcore".

Don't even get me started down that road.

Course I ain't never seen anyone go up that road. Six years ago a group of campers went out there and got lost, had to eat each other to stay alive. Used to be the way to the O'Reilly house, he butchered over 50 children and kept their bodies in his cellar. But you should find an old bridge 'bout half way up. That bridge is cursed, ya know. They built it with the bones of 200 Chinese laborers who were massacred in '34. Ya, a lot of history on that road.

I don't love Thomas not getting the start after getting yanked. Not the biggest thing but I'd rather see him get right back on the horse and to do so in front of the home crowd. Tomorrow night isn't far away, I know.

I think it's the right move because TT generally dominates the Senators.

As does the Bruins' front-office no-check beer league team and the janitor's mop bucket.

Yeah, he's 20-8-2 vs. the Sens with a career .936 save percentage. The only team he's played 10+ games against that he owns harder is the Isles (10-5-1, .942 save percentage).

Paille is on the ice for warmups. As is Hamill. As expected no Campbell, Chara.

PEVERLEY!!!

Great shift from Hamill, awesome cycle.

Worth noting that it took one shift of Paille-Hamill-Thornton for Claude to swap Hamill and Kelly.
