Yet another week where they win and I feel 0% better about the team.
I don't think we will until and unless they win a playoff game.

This is what sucks about this end of season stretch of games. We can only come to hate this team more by playoff time.

I don't think we will until and unless they win a playoff game.
They could be blowing out teams and we would be worried that they won't be prepared for a 'real' opponent. Winning is winning, there are still obvious concerns about this defense.

Jets will beat Houston in first round and go to Foxboro.
It's amazing that Jets fans probably feel better about their playoff chances than Pats fans do right now.

No, he should feel free to call out Brady for that shitty throw and for being off all day. But he probably shouldn't scream at him like a 4-year old because he's a professional coach. The offense does nothing if Brady plays a game at a non-elite level, I'm not impressed with Bill O'Brien's game-calling abilities.
I wonder if there was a bigger move here, like an audible away from the primary play or something?
I was trying to watch it streaming at work, so I couldn't watch as closely as I'd like. I wonder if Brady optioned out of something, and O'Brien was mad at him for it, or something.

If you use your 3 TO's and Washington does NOT score a TD, you leave them with their TO's to use against you. If you go 3 and out, you give Washington the ball back again with great field position and plenty of time on the clock.

There's no explanation to the Jets of the past few years outside of someone selling their soul to the devil.

Another demoralizing victory.

Spotty? thats some good spin right there.
Fine, they played really awful? What adjective do you like?
Christ, guy. They moved the ball on a good D most of the game and really should've had 45-50 points (three drops for TDs).
The special teams was very good.
The defense...was not, but they somehow managed to hold on.

Jets will beat Houston in first round and go to
Foxboro.Baltimore, if things stay this way
The Jets are going to be the 6th seed. If the Patriots, Texans and Ravens all win out and finish 13-3, the Ravens will be the #1, the Patriots will be the #2, and the Texans the #3. In that case, the #6 Jets will play the #1 Ravens if they win their first-round game.
Edit: and I would MUCH rather play the Jets in the 2nd round than the Steelers.

I was trying to watch it streaming at work, so I couldn't watch as closely as I'd like. I wonder if Brady optioned out of something, and O'Brien was mad at him for it, or something.
You couldn't read O'Brien's lips because he was facing away from the camera but it certainly looked to me like Brady yelled "He was open!", which to me suggests the question preceding it was "How can you make that dumb throw?". Either way, I don't think there's anything wrong with O'Brien telling Brady to get his head out of his ass; I just think it was questionable to see BOB throw a temper tantrum Brady's way when his entire resume is built off of having Brady to run the offense. He may be a very good OC in his own right with a league average QB at the helm, I acknowledge that the OC takes a lot of shit when offensive playcalls fail when it's more likely a moderate percentage of blame versus failed execution or just plain good defensive execution. But it's not nearly as cathartic to make BB and Brady the scapegoat or to give credit to the opponent.

Honestly, I'm glad they won in a league where wins don't typically come easy; I'm not pleased with how they got there. But they got there.
Not interested in a semantics war.
I think you're on the wrong message board.

I mentioned this before, but here's one reason NOT to use TO's there. Not saying it's right or wrong, but it's one possible reason.
If you use your 3 TO's and Washington does NOT score a TD, you leave them with their TO's to use against you. If you go 3 and out, you give Washington the ball back again with great field position and plenty of time on the clock.
That's probably the logic - though keep in mind, Washington did use 1 TO after the 1st down play... so from that point on, a worst-case scenario for the the Pats (as far as Washington getting the ball back after failing to score on 4th down and the Pats doing 3 running plays) - would've had them at about the 50 yd line with no timeouts left and :20 seconds on the clock, needing a Touchdown.
I'm 99.9% sure the odds are favorable for BB to have called a TO after the 1st down play... and I'd make a "$10,000 bet" that BB definitely should've started calling them after the 2nd down play.

I would pay $50 to get 5 minutes with Shanahan to ask him if he would have gone for 2 had the Skins scored.
I feel like he would. He would have to be comfortable assuming scoring on the 2 pointer would be more likely than winning the coin flip.
