Shane Doan is getting the Montreal treatment from the Winnipeg crowd. Really don't get that, since he didn't organize the old Jets' sale and move to Arizona.

Yea no kidding. And what's he supposed to say, exactly? Tell his fans in Phoenix that he'd love to skip town and head to Winnipeg? I was happy for Winnipeg getting their team back, but if that's how they're going to act, screw 'em. It's like the Cleveland asshats still whining over the Ravens...you got your Browns back, how about taking the high road? Though, to be fair...they have to live in Cleveland, they've got good reason to be pissy.

I just saw Patrick O'Sullivan dive to break up a 2-on-1. Maybe there is something to this 2012 stuff

Blake Wheeler just caused an offside. Things are back to normal

Same applies to Winnipeg. There just aren't enough parks in the city to keep the fans happy and entertained.

In other news, the Hurricanes still suck in spectacular fashion. Jeff Skinner can't do it all by himself people.

Both starting goalies pulled in the Wild/Devils game. Is there any doubt whatsoever that Marty Brodeur has finally reached his expiration date? Four shots...three goals.

watching the Blue Jackets - Oilers game right now realized the camera angle has the penalty boxes on the far side of the arena. I can't ever remember seeing this type of broadcast alignment before, is this common in Edmonton?

Speaking of that, remember how all the old Adams Division rinks had the benches on opposite sides, with the home bench next to the penalty box?

Beleskey just faceplanted Sean Couturier into the boards...he may have a date with Shanny forthcoming.

Watching last night's Flyers OT win in Anaheim (thanks for the 2-minute bitching penalty Ryan Getzlaf) it occurred to me how bad it must suck for Detroit and Columbus to be in the Western Conference. They play 16 games, roughly 40% of their road schedule, in the Pacific or Mountain time zones. As much as I enjoy saying Detroit can suck it up when I hear about how they're attempting to force their way into the East, I kind of have to sympathize, not just with the team re: the travel but their fans too.

They have that setup at Conte for BC. It's nice when you're the home team but I never liked it much. Just felt uncomfortable and different, for lack of a better word.

Also, my brother has a good friend that works under Shanny making the reports for the questionable hits and apparently Shanny is batshit crazy. He's not afraid to ream you out for a minuscule error and sounds like an interesting guy to work for, to say the least.

Subban flies into the boards on a one-handed shove to draw a penalty and negate the rest of a Kings PP with time running short. Dude is some kind of top-heavy....

edit: Subban hacks the shit out of Stoll's stick, no call. Game is in LA allegedly. I hate Montreal.

Bobby Mac's Calder pick Matt Read tallies early on the PP, and then Simmonds makes it 2-0. There are a ton of Flyers fans in Glendale tonight, similar to last night in Anaheim. It's like a road Sox game.

The last five or so minutes of the Pens-Canes game tonight was absurd. There were two blatantly blown calls in the Canes' favor, three consecutive penalties on the Penguins leading to a 6-on-3 when the Canes pulled their goalie, a ton of blocked shots on the ensuing 6-on-3, and one of the saves of the year by Brent Johnson. Pens kill the 6-on-3 and win.

I can't wait to hear Miller's comments about getting run by Tootoo tonight. Tootoo made no effort to get out of the way and got 5 minutes plus a game. Gaustad got his opportunity to "back up his goalie" pretty quick. Pretty funny

Evander Kane has the first goal of the game in five of his last fifteen games. He has six goals in his last five games. Where would he go if the 2009 draft was a do over?

If anything, probably the same or lower than he was drafted...

I'd say he probably goes 3rd. Hindsight might drop Hedman as far as 5th behind Schenn but Tavares and Duchene both had better pedigrees coming out of Junior and have outproduced Kane by 50% on comparable or worse teams. I love Evander Kane, both for being awesome and for punking Matt Cooke, but he went 4th overall in a draft where the top 5 picks were already about right.

Miller's teammates could have made a statement at some point in the two games against Boston to prevent something like this. Instead, they painted a target across Miller's back and as far as I can tell, it's still there.

Henrik Karlsson injures his knee when a Canuck collides with him in the crease. Kiprusoff replaces him, and a minute or so later Booth runs right into him along the goal line prompting a scuffle.

Toronto currently getting smoked by the MikeFords. 2 PP goals has them up 2-0 - a sick Kovalchuk snipe, and a Clarkson gimme.

Apparently, Reimer is not the next LaPlante.

Wisniewski with a bonehead pass up the middle with less than ten seconds left, Cammalleri picks it near the faceoff dot, carries in and sets up a Kastsitsyn goal with 1.5 seconds left. 1-1 after 20.

In fairness, Kessel's leg/foot never made that "kicking motion" that they ruled on Parise's goal, even though in both cases the player wasn't intentionally kicking at the puck. The fact they didn't even review it bugs me more than anything.

Fuck you Toronto.

Zach Kassian just danced through about 4 Flyers before sniping one past Bryzgalov. Kassian's going to be a player. Look forward to the first Kassian/Lucic war.

Edit: Sabres tack on a PP goal quickly after, 3-0 after 1. Bryzgalov must be Russian for Brian Boucher.

Edit 2: Things are happening quickly in this game. Flyers scored with 1 second left in the period. Then Tropp and Rinaldo got into a pretty heated fight to close the period out.

Ovechkin spears Chris Neil, who goes down the tunnel - only after having been called for diving.

Agreed on Kassian - given Kassian's 7-7-14 line in 18 games in the AHL, his unique Lucic-esque game, and the Sabres' utter lack of anyone with fighting acumen, I am somewhat shocked he wasn't called up to take on Lucic.

Though I suppose that would be a cop-out and perhaps the league warned them against calling him up for the sole purpose of going at it with Lucic.
