If Cinci beats UConn tomorrow, WVU wins the Big East. Otherwise it's Louisville.
I can't believe I am put into a scenario where I am tempted to root for UConn.
Ahh forget it, why would I care whether the Orange Bowl gets stuck with WVU or Louisville. I'm probably not watching the game either way

Just beat Oklahoma (preferably by a lot) and all is forgiven.I would like to apologize for both Oklahoma universities that I have worked for and attended for making this weekend have no relevance whatsoever on the BCS title picture. Sorry. They both would have embarrassed the state in the bowl game for the umpteenth time anyway.
I'm gonna be rooting for a lot of teams to lose this weekend. It's going to be fun.

Sloppy game so far. 2 turnovers a piece now.
Ducks with their 2nd 30+ yard TD on 4th down. Not looking great but UCLA doing everything they can to help them out. 35-14.

Aaaaannnnnd... A 20-20-tie game with 2:45 to play.Bobcats are pouring it on to Northern Illinois. 20-0 in Detroit.
From what I've seen so far, I don't see Northern Illinois coming back from this. They have put up a ton of points this year, but that's the MAC way.
Actually NIU should be up 21-20, but they missed the PAT on their second TD.
EDIT - NIU getting the ball back again as Ohio punts from their own 30 with 1:26 left. Their last punt went 12 yards. This one goes 35 yards for no return to the NIU 35. The Huskies have 2 time outs left.

Another pass to Martel Moore moves the ball 16 more yards to the Ohio 19. First & 10 with less than 30 seconds left.
Matthew Sims is going to have a 33-yarder to win it here for the Huskies.
EDIT - Frank Solich freezes the kicker twice, but it splits the uprights. Helluva comeback for the Huskies.

theres a rule in the nfl, the 2nd one would be a 15 yard penalty, but no rule in college
Thanks, the beer is setting in.
Unless Oregon made adjustments at the half I'm surprised they're not throwing at Fauria more. The guy is 6'8" and our secondary is, well, not.

And even closer if you listen to Charles White! I know he needs to try to keep the audience engaged in a game where there is approximately 0% chance that Oregon is going to lose, but to listen to him sing t praises of the UCLA defense over and over again in a game where they might well give up 60 points is pretty hilarious. This UCLA - Oregon game is much closer than anyone thought it would be. 24-35 in the third now.
And down 3 scores half way through the 3rd, UCLA is really starting to establish the run! Oh boy!

It would be an Oregon home crowd no matter where they held this year's game. I'm sure Fox is happy they paid good money for the rights to this fiasco.
They and the four letter are in it for 12 years, so they better make the most of it
Haha, that was a hell of a one-handed catch by Rosario.
Well let's see if Oregon can get a second big-time bowl win under their belt. Not long ago any Duck fan would have given their left nut for a Rose Bowl. Let's hope we don't take this for granted... Pasadena is a hell of a way to end the year and I'm looking forward to how we stack up against either Wisconsin or MSU.

So college football, please play with my mind even more. I thought NIU was the better team going in so they deserved it, BUT I thought they were thoroughly overplayed in the first half. I didn't see the second. Must have been exciting though. Rip of the MAC for the quality, but it's still entertaining. It's still football. I love it.Aaaaannnnnd... A 20-20-tie game with 2:45 to play.

I saw a fair amount of the Oregon game and was surprised as to why they didn't just pour it on. USC beat UCLA by 50? I thought Oregon wanted to beat them by more? Either way, LaMike was awesome. Good game for the Ducks. I hope Wisconsin or Michigan State castrates you in the Rose Bowl.
Tomorrow, some real games will take place. Big Ten Championship. SEC Championship.

I think this is kind of a trial but they didn't have faith they could sell out a neutral site.
Neutral sites were explored with LA, Phoenix, San Fran, Seattle and Vegas all vying for it, but they couldn't decide on one that's fair. Really the only place in the middle is Fresno and that's not an option. Rotating the game between a few sites is under consideration as well, but as Manny stated, they wanted to make sure they had good crowds for the initial years to avoid some of the crowds you've seen at the ACC Champsionship game.
I think it's a good idea. It's tough to ask fans to travel for a championship game, then turn around and make plans to go to the Rose Bowl a month later. Big 10 tickets are going for like $14 on stubhub with tickets available on ticketmaster still. The only exception is the SEC Championship where most of the schools are driving distance from Atlanta and also have a large alumni population.

I will be very surprised if the Big Ten game isn't a near sellout at game time. And if it's not, the schools have no excuse. Indy is only abou 5 hours from these two.

See that's where the Big Ten fucked up. I'm sure Indianapolis has a lot to offer as a city, but no one lives there and there are no [relevant] schools near there. Chicago was a much better site, even if it is outdoors and the stadium isn't as big. It would've been a sold out game and people would have been able to go to it. There's a tremendous alumni base for most of the schools there. There's other stuff to do there that makes it an attractive location (food, friends, drink, shopping). As for the price of the tickets, combined with what I've already said, what happened wasI think it's a good idea. Nebraskacertain fans bought tickets early anticipating their school being in the BTCG. Unfortunately for them, they got smashed in Big Ten play and are sitting at home trying to find ways to sell their tickets.
How did the Big Ten fuck up? The goal is not to have high prices on the secondary market. It's to have the fairest contest possible to decide who goes to the Rose Bowl. The tickets have been sold, the stadium will be full enough to look good on TV and cover costs and make plenty of profit. The ratings are unaffected by whether it's in Indy or Chicago. This is not a bowl game where the teams and conference are getting payouts form the bowl, which needs to consider the contribution to the economy, etc.

There were as many as 9,000 tickets left earlier this week. I guess most of them have been sold now because of the cheap tickets and the time to plan the trip (book hotels, coordinate with friends, etc). I was just saying that if the game was in Chicago, they wouldn't have had problems with attendance. That's all.How did the Big Ten fuck up? Southern Miss takes an early 14-0 lead. Houston losing is a good thing for Michigan right?

Unclear. One loss might not be enough to drop them below Michigan. It's definitely good for Boise, though.
Actually, I guess Houston would not be an AQ if it loses, so it would free up another slot. So in that way it's good regardless.

It;'s not that they were sold, the tickets came off because they were commemorative tickets, probably plastic, that can't be emailed. And given the market value, for most people it wasn't financially sensical to send them to Indianapolis (from Lincoln, Ann Arbor, Sad Valley, etc.) to sell them at the last minute. So all the tickets that could have been sold by Fed Ex probably came off Wednesday and Thursday. The thousand and change left on there are probably just brokers, and big brokers at that, and some Indy people. There were as many as 9,000 tickets left earlier this week. and I agree with you on Chicago v. Indy, tons of B1G alums there, especially from Madison.

According to this widget, if we see chalk other than this, it's Michigan-TCU in the Sugar Bowl. Would the Sugar rather have WVU, or TCU? I think I'd rather play Houston than TCU sadly.Houston has tied it up, and will win this game. But if they lost, TCU would have a chance to crack the top 16 in the BCS. They'd then take Houston's slot, which could lead to something like a Michigan-WVU Sugar Bowl.
