He tried to make another reporter look stupid, when an hour earlier, it was clear he and the team and the organization were celebrating an individual record on national TV.

He's been here like 10 years. We all know that, even after a win, he gets annoyed by questions like that and stuff he doesn't care about but will go into depth if you ask probing questions about football history and strategy.

It was a silly question. I'm fine with Belichick not tolerating foolishness.

I mean, Bill was on the podium very quickly after the conclusion of the game. Does anyone really think in that span of time someone came up to Belichick and was like, hey, Bill, I know there's a lot on your mind right now, but there's something you really need to know about the official scorer's report...

Orlovsky in the 4th: 18-20 for 250 and 2 TDs.

Nobody has a severe problem with this? Yeah, it was a big lead, but maybe they could have held him to, you know, less than a 90% completion percentage? That wasn't Aaron Rodgers out there (thank God).

Not to be too snarky, but do you think Aaron Rodgers would have improved on 18-20, 250 yds, and 2 td in the fourth quarter?

Yep, it's Tuesday. I'm treating the gamethread rules like Brady treated Philly's defense.

Stage 1: The Turnaround. Complete.
Stage 2: The Momentum Builder. Complete.
Stage 3: The Defensive Posture. Complete.
Stage 4: The Don't Overlook Game.

Pats by 6.

Not saying I agree with it, but this is nothing new.

Jets pick Grossman to seal the game. THAT is called finishing.

LOL

The Pats finished the game in the 3rd. I could give a shit about the last 3 minutes, though it's nice that BB has motivation to yell at the team now.

Pretty sure you're a Jets troll anyway.

Exactly. The game was won in Q3. A blowout would not have served Belichick's purposes.I note in passing that he went away from the hurry up offense in Q4, even though the Colts showed, in Q3, that they had no clue as to how to stop it.

Which are (besides the go-ahead to change the name of his boat)?

To kdeep his team from getting complacent and preparing them for the next game. He never wants his teams to think that there is not significant room for improvement.

Accomplished

"We started off strong, but we didn’t finish well," Mayo said. "We have to learn to put two halves together."

"We always talk about playing your best football after Thanksgiving," Mayo said. "That's what we're trying to do. Unfortunately, in the fourth quarter today, we didn’t do that."

"I’m cool with it. That was my first rush of my career -- of my whole life -- and I got a touchdown on it," Gronkowski said. "My first rushing touchdown ever, I’m cool."

Gronkowski, known for his emphatic post-score spikes, held tight to the ball after the third score before throwing it to the sideline for safekeeping.

"I thought it was [the record-setting ball], so I wanted to keep it," he said. "I wish I spiked it now."

I was at the game (near the closed end zone where all the TDs happened), and frankly the Colts receivers just made some fantastic catches there at the end (and Orlofsky's throws were money - his deep ball touch in this game was way better than Brady's). And yes, through the 3rd it was a complete walkover - from 10-3 on, there really wasn't a single moment when the Pats were in real danger of losing the game. Kind of disconcerting to see both the O and the D lose focus at the same time like that, but shit happens.

Because they're not a very good team and they actually are a good matchup for the Pats (as opposed to a team that can throw the ball well).

What? I don't want to see the Jets in the playoffs, period. I dislike them. All I said was that and that the Ravens and Steelers look much better than us right now, thinking playoff-forward. Why am I getting trolled? None of this is out in left field.

Lots of talk about not finishing, etc., but there were maybe a thousand people ledt in the stands to watch that last touchdown. It's not like the game was actually in doubt. Hard to get too excited about players losing a little focus late. Colts were still huddling and running the ball often in the fourth. Pats were content to let them eat clock.

I don't know about that. As strange as it seems given the earlier 31-3 score, if the Colts recovered that onside kick, we didn't see much during that 4th quarter to convince us that the Pats would have prevented a TD and a 2-point conversion. Very long odds, but not at all impossible.

Well you said "Oh, and the Jets will be playing the tournament with us, too. Fantastic." That's not Jets-hating (which I approve), that's fearing a shit team.

Interesting in light of the Orlovsky mocking and insistence that the projected 6-point margin had damn well better be after one quarter. Whoever ate the points got what they had coming to them.

The upcoming Tebow mocking -- in the teeth of the Pats' historical difficulties in Denver, even during BB/Brady -- will be interesting too.

Meanwhile, a win is a win is a win. Just get that first round bye cause I don't want to be facing Baltimore on the road if it comes to that.

Looking past the match up against your local team already?

On a bright note for the Pats: Skins lose Fred Davis and Trent Williams to season ending suspensions for use of "recreational drugs."

Take care of the football and control the run, and the Pats ought to be fine. There is not even a revenge angle for the beat down in 2007 cause almost no one here then remains.

Arguably, those two are the Redskins most valuable players on offense. for those who have not heard, their stupidity is epic --

Baltimore has a good chance to win out, unfortunately. If that happens, they are the 1 seed.

It's amazing the degree to which a mediocre Jets team is in peoples' heads.

Didnt we already beat those bums twice? Who gives a shit if they make the playoffs? They stink.
