D shows no pride
Pride? I would've gone with effort.
Or perhaps HEART.

Orlovsky just passed 300.
This defense remains puzzling, strange, and disturbing. They can win all their remaining games by 3 touchdowns and I will still be worried about their first playoff game against a decent offense with a competent QB.
Brady and Gronk would break 1000 yards against this defense.

Cry "garbage time!" all you want, but this once again shows that this defense can't close out games; if the offense isn't on, this team is screwed.
None of that was good, but I don't know what to say if you think this was comparable to a tightly contested game. Apples and oranges.
Oh, and, if the fucking offense gets a Goddamn first down the entire quarter we aren't having this conversation.

They really let up both offensively and defensively this quarter. They had this coming.
I'm sort of glad. That 4th quarter felt like a team that was starting to buy into its own myth.
Nothing like giving up 21 straight points to the Colts to reinforce Belichick's message.

This game taught us nothing new, no one expected it to and I don't think we'll learn much more about this team's chances for the rest of the season. What's far more concerning is what we're learning new about the strength of the Steelers and Ravens.

It's amazing the degree to which a mediocre Jets team is in peoples' heads.

I just want them to see them out of the picture, what's wrong with that sentiment? And everything else I said is completely true.

Watch the press conference. They barely asked him anything.Has anyone in the media challenged BB about how awful this D has played with the lead?
Some guy asked if he knew that the official scorer had changed Gronk's last TD to a rush and how that meant he hadn't broken the TE receptions record and the complete and under contempt that flowed out of Belichick was palpable. It looked like Bill might end the reporter with his mind, and the press just colelctively decided to pipe down and nobody had the guts to ask any more questions.

Yeah -- they should be more like the Jets!Jets pick Grossman to seal the game. THAT is called finishing.
Listen, that wasn't exactly a clinic on either side of the ball in the 4th Q, but I'm not exactly going to lose sleep over the team struggling to maintain its focus for 60 minutes when they're up by 21 points late. I just don't see how any of what happened there applies to anything that would happen in a game against the Steelers or Ravens.

Given that the Jets beat the Pats in the playoffs last season, it's generally difficult to beat a team three times in one season, Rex Ryan's defenses have given Brady problems at times, the Jets have made it to the AFC Championship game in each of the last two seasons, if the Jets make the playoffs, they will be on a 6-0 roll to end the season, and the Jets are one of the Pats biggest rivals, I can see why you find it amazing that people are focused on the Jets. It's amazing the degree to which a mediocre Jets team is in peoples' heads.

Now that's just blatant trolling by the reporter.

Nobody has a severe problem with this? Yeah, it was a big lead, but maybe they could have held him to, you know, less than a 90% completion percentage? That wasn't Aaron Rodgers out there (thank God).

Because they're not a very good team and they actually are a good matchup for the Pats (as opposed to a team that can throw the ball well).

RapSheet: Asked one Patriot for his thoughts on the game. Said, "It sucked. Don't want to talk about it." Can't blame him.
shalisemyoung: B. Waters: "I know what losing feels like and this ain't that. But are we disappointed? Yes."

How can you be pissed that the team quit and then turn around and suggest it's PMS on Belichick's part? All the reports mentioned Belichick gave Gronk a hug or something, then the scoreboard showed Gronk and a congratulations message and the whole offense gathered around him. Belichick had just done some stupid shit and watched his team quit, so he tried to take his PMS out on Rapoport.
Isn't that sort of trying to have it both ways? If you think it's legitimate for him to be pissed, well, then what's the problem?

He tried to make another reporter look stupid, when an hour earlier, it was clear he and the team and the organization were celebrating an individual record on national TV.
