Cut the shit. In the end, you got beat by Tom Brady. Not exactly a badge of dishonor.I want Dallas to be contracted and/or moved to the CFL.

And now we don't have to hear about it.
Instead we'll start hearing about the 20 point streak

I mean, we used to looooooove it when they won on a 2-minute drill march after a defensive stand.
as I recall, it sorta kicked ass. Like, lots of ass.

Then Vintage Tom Brady showed up. Way to sack the fuck up. Game ball goes to the D.

I think that's the first time in 5+ years that the defense has won a game for this team. Are there any I'm missing? I remember a 9-6 game or something like that in Cleveland...in maybe 2007?
They won 9-3 v CLE in 2003. It was like -56 degrees in Foxboro.

We SHOULD hear about the fact that our "league-worst defense" is suddenly looking pretty decent.Instead we'll start hearing about the 20 point streak

Yes, but they're now behind Green Bay in most of the aesthetic categories. So, did New England win?
This could really hurt them with the judges if and when the play-offs come around.

Holy shit. Tom Brady had a bad game...and the team won!
I'm actually more confident about this team going forward after that.
Agreed. The defense allowed one TD. They made a pile of plays out there.

You don't belong here. That was so fucking enjoyable. Probably the best Pats win since the 2009 opener.
Not even that bad, really, yeah?Holy shit. Tom Brady had a bad game...and the team won!

No, you're right. But it's the type of game that the Patriots of the last 3 years would have lost.
This Dallas offense is no pushover.

This team will be very, very good when they get Vollmer and Mayo back.

It reminded me of when Michael Jordan would shoot 8 for 27 and still nail the game winner.

Not exactly a badge of dishonor.
True but being 2-3 with the 3 being all gut punches is. New England will not play worse than this all year and Dallas couldn't take advantage, just like always.
and the posters ripping Brady all day should be ashamed. I know it's a game thread but the guy is the best quarterback I've seen other than Montana, and he's just like Montana. Even when he has a bad (for him) game, he finds a way to win them all the time. I would kill to have Tom Brady on my team.

So, we have a D. This is good news.
Not been that nervewracked about a regular season game in a long time.
This was the best way to win. Way better than 34 to 24. The D was enormous against a really talented club. And was it my eyes or did Brandon Spikes play like a monster?
GREAT win over an underrated team coming off of a bye week. And other than his second pick, I thought Brady was fine. The interior line, on the other hand...
I agree on Brady, he was better than fine. Yes, two ints, and one was a real dumb throw. But my god he was threading the needle all game long -- I thought for the most part that was vintage, except for the easily correctable 'trying to make a play when you shouldn't.'
and, as for nerve-wracked...jesus, glad it wasn't just me. Holy fuck that was great football. I love watching some defense. I have no problem with the rule changes to protect QBs and WRs, but insofar as a result of that is an increase in offense there should be other things done to keep games lower scoring. Much tenser football, much more exciting.
let me just give out a homer: whooo!
man alive...

Romo's stupidity aside, the Dallas offense has way more big play capability than Baltimore.

All told I thought Romo played all right today. The last drive was pathetic but he gave defense the lead with 2 something minutes left. They couldn't hold it, or even get it OT at a minimum.
Are you disappointed they didn't try to pass the first two downs on their last drive? Or at this point you just can't give it to Romo at the end?

yeah because I think as shaky as Tony is, he's got a better chance of moving the chains than their non-existent running game - their strength is in their receivers and the tight ends, not Demarco Murray or Tashard Choice.

He certainly didn't look great.Guyton really played a poor game, seemed like he had cement in his shoes. Especially on Romo's scramble when he just sort of looked at him and didnt do anything.
Spikes, on the other hand, was blowing things up all over the place. I love him blitzing up the middle. He was timing it well and he just explodes into blockers. It'll be nice to see him and Mayo next to eachother after the bye.

1) Dez going berserk on the sidelines after Dallas took the lead while I though to myself, 'please let this d'bag lose today.' And he did.
2) Rob Ryan's fail face after Brady's winning TD pass while thinking 'Brady 2, Ryan Brothers 0 this month.'

Our offensive line kicks ass and we have a literal bulldozer for a TE so... we damn well better be able to run the ball.More than anything, this game showed that the Patriots can run the ball against a good defense. 25 rushes for 101 yards against a defense coming in that had given up 61 YPG. 25 rushes to 41 passes is rather balanced for the Patriots of the past few years. It's not all on Brady anymore. This team can run the football and run it powerfully.

Dallas gave New England all they could handle, on the road, for 3.75 quarters. You've got many reasons to be optimistic about your team, particularly given your next 3 opponents. Of course, you don't have to choose to be optimistic, but I think that division is wide open for you still, given what I saw today.True but being 2-3 with the 3 being all gut punches is. I'm actually very pleased they gave New England a game on the road; I didn't think it would be close and they had the lead until Brady did what he does. It's just disheartening that a team with so much talent (and they do have a lot) finds ways to lose so many games they have a chance to win. The good thing is the NFC East is obviously wide open and there for the taking.
