Rivera throws one kind of pitch. He could probably do a Rip van Winkle and go out and get three outs.Does it help Mo and Robertson to rest them tonight even though there's a day off tomorrow?

Fister still scares me a little.
For sure. There is no guarantee about Thursday.

Nope, but nice that Nova will be on full rest and glad it's at home.

I thought so but you never know what kind of trash players are talking. Looked like A-Rod said something while rounding first base, then he kept talking as Cabrera smiled and backed up to his position. I suspect A-Rod thought he was being mocked after his first hit.Looks like A-Rod was staring at Cabrera there, I guess about the ball thing earlier?
Good news is, A-Rod's got two hits now and his confidence is up. His mental state is very important.

Do Sterling and Waldman really not remember Robertson pitching last night?
They're lucky if they remember their names.
Martin has made some nice throws to first after pitches got away on Ks tonight.

Jesus looks very comfortable in the postseason.
I don't think I could possibly be more excited about him.

What if he could actually catch?

Yankees have the momentum for now going into the final game.

Don't really care. Bat's too good. We'll see on all that defense jazz.

You get that he'd be far more valuable as a C than a DH, right? I'm pretty sure if he caught like Matt Wieters, you'd be more excited.

He is 21. Is anyone really all that good as a catcher at 21? I say give the kid a chance.
Also, if Teixiera's batting avg. continues to trend down, we might want to give the kid a first baseman's glove in two years.

OK I think Hughes might just be better as a reliever.
This. He is just better going 1-2 innings. Potentially dominant. And the fact that he has 3 pitches, with only 2 being above average, makes him potentially more effective out of the pen. Of course you could say this about most pitchers.

Momentum is bullshit, the bastion of selective memory and lazy JoeChats.
I think I have seen some examples of both positive and negative momentum over the past month.

I apologize for my hyperbole. If he was a potentially elite hitter AND defender, I would find a higher level of excitement. You're right.
I think you need to accept Jesus as your personal savior. I have, and I'm much happier now.

Montero is the third youngest Yankee to ever get a postseason hit. Who was ahead of him? A couple of guys named DiMaggio and Mantle.
Trade the stiff, I hear he can't catch.

I thought Hughes was going to be a true stud. Who knows what went wrong? A bit of injury a bit of other stuff. Can't maintain velocity which diminishes the impact of the curve. A solid reliever is nice but not what you want or expect from an uber-prospect like Hughes was. All I remember was him flirting with that no-hitter and thinking "shit, this guy is going to be a pain in the ass for 15 years" but it's just not happening. Of course, if a relatively unheralded guy like Nova becomes a mid-rotation starter that softens the blow quite a bit.
edit: Also, the Montero business is probably going to be one thing Sox and Yanks fans can bond over because Lavarnway is in the same boat, albeit with a lesser bat. I don't know if Keith Law has shat on Montero's catching ability too, but if so we can verbally abuse him together.
